Global Prayer on Acts 2:1

And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place.

Acts 2:1 · KJV

The prayer

Written prayer

Father, after Jesus was crucified the disciples and other believers gather together to wait for what they should do next. The festival of 'Pentecost' was the fiftieth day from Passover. They were unified in prayer and fellowship and drew strength from each other as they pondered what had just happened. They sang and prayed and waited for direction from the Lord. It must have been a scary time for them to be huddled together without Jesus. He was the one they looked to for direction and comfort. They followed him and now he was gone. They needed each other and wondered who would lead them now. When things are not clear and I’m confused I wait expectantly on you Lord to give me direction. I pray and worship until that clarity comes. I have learned to rest in peace with other believers as I continue to seek God for direction. It may take longer than I expect but I’m learning that is not often how you work. Patience is a virtue I was never good at. Being with other believers gives me comfort as I wait. If I rush to make something happen I will often make a wrong choice and mess things up. Teach me patience as I wait on you Lord, in Jesus name, Amen.
