The prayer
Written prayerFather, I thank you that I was washed, sanctified, and justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ. You have purchased my liberty and now all things are lawful for me. But if I sacrifice the power of my choice, which is implied in the thought of liberty, I cease to be free. Don't let my liberty be an excuse to sin but help me use liberty to choose life. Not all things are good for me and not all things will make things better for others. Help me navigate the limits of my liberty Lord. I want to make wise choices that will be useful for my spiritual growth and will strengthen others as they pursue their growth in the Lord. If what I do or say might stumble a younger or weaker brother in the Lord, then I want to reconsider my choices for their sake. My choice is not to flaunt my liberty just because I am forgiven, but to do what will bring glory to your name. Give me the discernment I need to consider what would be best for others. To whom much is given much is required. My life is not my own and my purpose is to serve you lord and love others as Christ loves me. Thank you for the gift of choice and the freedom of self-determination. I am determined to follow you, Jesus, and reflect your love to others. In Jesus name, amen.
