The prayer
Written prayerDear Lord, I glorify your name above all names. You are the only God worthy of praise. Thank you for appearing to your followers after you broke the power of death and rose from the grave. Its exciting to know that as I am in you, and you are in me, I have the hope of glory and eternal life with you. After your followers suffered the pain of watching your curcifiction they were overtaken with grief. Those that witnessed you appearance after your curcifiction were stunned. You passed through death and came forth from the grave full of peace and compassion. They heard the tenderness of your voice saying “…I became dead, and behold, I am alive for evermore.” I no longer have to fear death. I too, can pass through death and rise from the grave just as you did. For those 40 days you assured your disciples you had vanquished death by appearing to them. This confirmed the truth of all you had spoken to them about the kingdom of heaven and the resserrection life you promised them. Your earthly mission was fulfilled and you were now glorified and sat down at the right hand of God. Your final words on the cross were, “it is finished,” Thank you my Lord, for the hope of glory that you have imparted to me as one of your own. I bless your holy name, In Jesus name, Amen.
