Seeing The Spirit's Work

The book of Acts doesn’t invite the Church into endless arguments about the Holy Spirit—it invites us to see His work, seek His power, and walk in His purpose. In Acts 8, Philip (a former table-waiter) becomes a Spirit-empowered evangelist in Samaria, demons flee, the lame are healed, and an entire city fills with

joy. But Acts 8 also warns us: spiritual power can attract people who want the gifts without the God who gives them. Simon the magician is baptized, impressed, and hungry for the “power”—yet Peter exposes the real issue: a heart that isn’t right before God. In this episode, we tackle the debates many Christians get stuck in (cessationism, secondary experiences of the Spirit, “being right” vs being filled) and we bring it back to what Acts shows us: the Holy Spirit brings joy, unity, power, and heart transformation—so the gospel can move forward.
