Worship Makes The Difference

Worship makes a difference in the life of a believer! We were created for worship and when we worship our Father-- particularly in times of pain or sorrow, we thwart the plans of the Devil. He was once the worship leader of heaven, the Morning Star who was cast down to Earth when he tried to usurp the authority of God.

Mankind was formed in "enemy territory" to show that we have a joy that is not dependent upon circumstances but is unchanging like our God who Himself is unchanging. He is always good! Cancel Culture running rampant with the renaming of schools, the extended meaning of evergreen trees, and opposition to former President Barack Obama. The fact is Man was made for a perfect world but we don’t live in one. We are always trying to lay the blame on someone else for its' imperfections. Biblically we all know that the world is broken and man has failed. But Cancel Culture is that pharisaical spirit that says, "you’re the problem, not me and if we get rid of you, the world will be a better place." It’s the great cry of our hearts that Jesus taught us to pray with Your kingdom come, Your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven... We want heaven on earth, yet we know it’s not here. You might ask yourself why religious persecution is also on the rise with the latest examples being Canadian Pastors Artur Pawlowski and James Coates? The answer is the Enemy. The god of this world hates the worship of God. He is so intimated by worship in the Church that he will do anything to silence it. We have to watch out for hatred. It is hatred in the human heart that pits us against each other and leads us to look for someone who will lead us to defeat the "bad people". As Christians, we are not enemies of any one person or any group of people. We cannot be because we were enemies of God and He made peace with us through the blood of His Son. We do not wrestle against flesh and blood but against evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against mighty powers in this dark world, and against evil spirits in the heavenly places. God is distinct and holy. He is not a lover, a marriage partner, or a friend. God is the Sustainer and Creator who is worthy of worship. We have to bring theology and worship back together again rooted in God’s Word. When we do that, we experience the 7 Blessings of Worship. Worship properly ordered brings God’s presence into our lives and when we are in His presence, we are blessed. The first step is to acknowledge that our sins need to be washed away through the blood of Jesus Christ. Only then can we joyfully surrender our lives to God through giving, singing, and serving. The world will not approve of our decisions, however, when we worship God in holiness and truth according to who He is and not who we want Him to be, a prophetic atmosphere is created which empowers us to do greater things for His glory. When we exalt God, He expands our life. He lifts us up and protects us. WORSHIP makes the DIFFERENCE: don’t neglect it, don’t dishonor it, you need it! Scriptures Studied: Luke 10:18; 2 Samuel 6; 1 Chronicles 15:13; 1 Chronicles 15:26; 1 Chronicles 16:1-7; 1 Chronicles 25:2; 1 Peter 3:3-4; Romans 12:6; 1 Corinthians 12:10; 1 Corinthians 14:1; 1 Timothy 4:14; Hebrews 12:28-29; Matthew 15:8-9 ; John 4 ; Ephesians 1:4; Matthew 5:16 Symbolism: (1) David’s wearing a “Linen Ephod” meant he was dressed like a priest. It is an example of how we are also to be priests who bring people back to God. (2) In the ancient world to be barren was to be disgraced to the ultimate degree. Michal’s barrenness is God’s judgment upon her for both her actions and spirit. She was an idol worshiper of the line of Saul and despised David for worshiping God.
