Understanding Revelation and the Church Age 0:00 Today, we're gonna jump into the, end time series that we've been looking at. We've been looking at the book of Revelation. If you're new, and I've seen so many of you, you've got your brand new Bibles and you're ready0:10 to go, I I don't wanna leave you out. Go all the way to the right, and what you're gonna find is the last book in the Bible is called Revelation. That's where we've been. We're gonna open up to chapter four today. And,0:22 to catch you up, we're going to, just talk talk about this for just a minute, what revelation means. Revelation means to unveil. That's what it means, to reveal. And it's gonna give us a future, an unveiling0:34 of what's gonna happen in the world, and as the future as we know it comes. Okay? So the revelation, and not... It's not revelations by the way in the south. We're studying revelations, it's revelation.0:46 And it's all about the person of Jesus Christ. Look at this. From the very first verse, the revelation of Jesus Christ. All the way to the very last verse in revelation, is about the person0:58 of Jesus Christ. About the person of Jesus Christ and what he's going to do in the future as the world as we know it comes to an end. Now that is very intriguing, isn't it? Now I hate to be the very bad1:10 news, but we're gonna pause this series after this weekend and get into the Christmas series and prayer partner, and then get into how to win with finances. And then February, we're gonna pick right back up. And we're1:21 gonna go verse by verse, even if it takes us two years. Okay? But what a cool place to end. Today, we're going to be talking about the rapture, a very intriguing, topic. But what we've1:33 learned so far is this. John, who is one of Jesus' best friends and closest followers, he wrote the book of Revelation. You remember they were trying to stamp out Christianity. They were1:45 trying to stamp out this movement. And so they had a hit... Church history tells us they burnt John alive, and he did not die. So they burnt him alive for preaching the word of God, and for preaching1:57 Jesus Christ, and that he did rise from the dead, and that he was the coming Messiah. And so they tried to get rid of him. They couldn't burn him, so they sent him to an island called Metis. Man,2:09 you guys remember you're great. He sent him to an island called Patmos, which was where they worked the salt mines. Criminals were sent there. Slaves were sent there for the Roman governor... Government. And so they sent2:20 him there in isolation. How many of you know that sometimes an isolation is where God does his greatest work? Where God will come to you when you feel alone, when you feel like you don't know what's ahead, you don't know2:32 how you're gonna get out of this problem or out of this stronghold. Oftentimes, in your darkest moments was where God will give his greatest light. And here John is, in the Isle of Patmos, and God would come through2:43 him. He would come to him through the Holy Spirit, lift him up, and give him a vision of what the future would hold. And he would tell him, write these things down that you see and hear. And what we've2:55 learned so far is he wrote in the beginning to the seven churches, seven local churches. And he wrote to the churches because they were discouraged. Did you know in those days, up to a thousand Christians were dying a3:07 day, per day. And the last thing Jesus has said was, I'll be back for you. So now, he writes these letters to these seven churches to encourage them, To encourage them and to correct3:19 them. And we've been learning all about that. But what we learned about that was it wasn't just to those local churches, it was to us. Remember first Corinthians taught us this? Or don't you know that your body3:31 is the temple of the Holy Spirit? Not a temple, but the temple. So those letters were to the local church, but they were to us. For us to examine our spiritual lives. We talked about the3:43 corrupt church. We talked about the loveless church. We talked about the faithful church. And it was for us to examine ourselves and say, which one of these churches am I? Because a church is not3:55 a building. The building is just where the church meets. Okay? Who's the church? You're the church. That's right. And that's very important for where we're going today. So he's talking all about the church,4:07 and then something happens. He stops. Just abruptly stops talking about the church. And John starts shifting his conversation towards the future. Look at this in4:19 chapter four verse one. He says, after these things... Now, what things? After the church. After he's sent these letters. After he's talked to the church. After the church age is what we call it.4:31 He says, after these things, I looked and behold, a door standing open in heaven. And the first voice which I had heard, like the sound of a trumpet speaking with me, said,4:42 come up here. Hold on now. So he's in Patmos, and now he's being pulled up into heaven. And he said, I'll show you what must take place after these things. It's like a4:54 bookend, isn't it? After what things? After the church is pulled out of the earth. John represents us believers. John is now being raptured, pulled5:06 out of these... Out of the church and now he's showing. I'm gonna show you what's going to happen. So, here's what we see. Up until this point, we've seen him... The the... Him talk about the church over and over and5:17 over. And now we don't see the church mentioned until Revelation twenty two. The church is gone. What happened? They got raptured. John represents us asWhat Is the Rapture? 5:28 believers in Jesus Christ, the church, that will be raptured. What is a rapture? Let's just do the who, what, when, where, how thing today. Okay? What is a rapture? Well, the rapture is... It's an English word we use. It5:40 comes from a a translated word, a Greek word called harpazo. It means to snatch out a danger. Means to snatch out a danger. The rapture is a great mystery. When I put on social media this week that I was gonna5:52 talk about the rapture, I probably got more hits than anything else. People were excited to say, oh, what is the rapture? Will I be caught up in the rapture? Will I make it? A lot of people wanna know about it. It's a6:03 great mystery. How many of you love a great mystery? Mystery book, mystery board games. I don't like mystery board games. Give me something easy like Candy Land. You know what I mean? Chutes and ladders. My daughter6:15 always wants to play Clue. Too much thinking. I don't wanna do that. But mystery movies, I like those. I heard about a, a joke about a guy that went to go see a mystery movie with his wife, and they always wanted6:27 to see who could figure out the mystery first. And they sat on the usher, sat him in the very back, and he pulled the usher over there. He said, I wanna be closer because I wanna figure out this mystery before my wife6:37 does. He said, matter of fact, he said, I'll give you a big tip if you can get me closer to the screen. So the usher went down. He put him right there in the second seat. I mean, right there in front of the thing. And he6:48 pulls out a nickel and gives it to this usher. And the usher leaned over and he said, the wife did it. And then he walked off. He blew the whole mystery.7:00 Cheapo. He was so cheap, he just blew the whole mystery. He said, the the the wife did it. Well, the Bible tells us that the rapture is a great mystery, that only by examining scripture7:12 can we understand it. So let's look at verse one, when he says, after these things I looked and behold, the door was standing open in heaven. And the first voice which I heard was like the sound of a trumpet, speaking7:24 with me saying, come up here and I'll show you what must take place. John hears a voice like a trumpet, and he's caught up. And he finds himself now transported from earth to7:36 heaven. You know, in the old testament, trumpets were sounds were... That... Which they used to communicate. They would use it to communicate, to gather for worship. They would use it to say, hey, come to the tabernacle.7:47 They would use it to say, hey, we need to move. If they were in the army, move here or there. They would use it if they were being attacked. If they were under attack, they would blow a certain horn and say, okay,7:57 prepare for battle. The Roman emperor would use a certain trumpet to announce a great king or a person of power coming into the city, so that everybody would be aware. When Jesus Christ8:09 comes and returns and comes in the clouds, there will be a sound of a trumpet and a commanding shout. One of these days, God the Father will say, Jesus, go get your bride. And he will8:21 stand, and he will shout, and the trumpet will sound, and it'll echo through the graves and tombs of this earth. And in an instant, in an instant, just like that, the dead in Christ8:33 will rise from their graves, and they will meet Jesus in the air. Now let me explain. It doesn't mean that your loved ones who have already died, that were believers, are sitting there in a tomb resting. Okay?8:45 It... The the Bible says, absent from the body is to be present with the Lord. So their souls are in heaven, but their bodies will rise out of their grave, and they will meet their8:57 body and their soul, and they will come together, and they will have a new resurrected body. They will have a new resurrected body just like the Lord Jesus. See, he gives us a picture of what our body will be like9:09 later. You remember when Jesus resurrected, it was a bodily resurrection. You remember Thomas, doubting Thomas, who says, I will not believe that Jesus... I heard what happened to him on the cross. I will9:21 not believe that you saw him. I will not believe that he rose from the dead. I will not believe unless I put my fingers in the holes of his hands where I saw those nails, unless I put my hand on his side. And you9:33 remember Jesus walked through the walls and came in there as they were eating and ate with them and then let Thomas put his hands there, and Thomas then believed?9:45 We will have a body just like that. We will have a resurrected body just like the body of Jesus. Now, after the dead in Christ rise, we, who are still living, will go right after.9:57 And we will have a resurrected body. Okay? And so that's what will happen at the rapture. Now, when the when the rapture happens, he's coming for his church. He says he's10:09 coming in the twinkle of an eye. It reminds me of illustration I heard about, the terrorist attack on nine eleven. There was a guy, a restaurant owner, that went into his big, big, deep freezer,10:21 huge deep freezer. And you can only stay in those things about fifteen minutes, and he was reorganizing it. And the whole events of nine eleven were taking place outside. Well, he gets out of the deep freezer and walks10:31 and sees that there's a crack in the ceiling and it is dripping with water. And so a guy comes in and he's startled, and his eyes are real big, and he walks to the restaurant, and the restaurant owner says, you can't10:41 come in here. It's not safe. There's... We're leaking. It's not safe. And the guy said, come here. Look outside. And he looked outside, and he saw the rubble, and the smoke, and the10:53 buildings had fell, and people running, and all this chaos. He was in that freezer protected. But when he came out, the world as he had known it, was totally changed. Totally different.11:05 The rapture will be that way. So one day, Jesus will come and take his church. And who is the church? You are. He'll take his church out of the world. And the whole world, an11:17 unbelieving world will be wondering, what happened to this mass sudden disappearance of a population? And, they'll be trying... I mean, planes will be filled in those days with people11:29 and the pilots will be gone. And, there'll be cruise ships. People going to the Bahamas and half the people will just be gone. And, there'll be people riding families in cars and the family members will be gone.11:41 And the whole world will be gone. What happened? And perhaps, you know, we don't know how they'll explain it. Perhaps they'll say UFOs. Now, they're starting to leak footage of so called UFOs inside. Maybe they'll say it11:52 was an alien abduction. And you think about it from a non spiritual eye. And people that don't know what we know. That would make sense. I mean, you see all these people that left, you would think, wow. Someone12:04 must have came and and took them away. And this is crazy. And they'll be trying to explain that. And I want to tell you, if you're not a believer, if your pride has held you back, I want to be frank with you because I12:14 love you. If you've been one of these people that your wife has dragged you to church every weekend, and you say, I'm not coming to Christ. I'm not coming. I'm not changing my lifestyle. I'm not coming. I don't care. I12:25 wanna tell you, when that happens, if you decide to keep going that route, pick up the Bible. Pick up these sermons. Maybe they'll still be on the Internet. Pick up these books like this book right here, After the12:36 Rapture that I have over here in our coffee shop available for purchase for you. This book is written for those who decide not to follow Jesus Christ, or those who we have witnessed to who don't come12:48 to Christ. And it lays out exactly what's gonna happen, Because the world will try to explain it in a way that will make sense. But the only truth will be found in God's word. And thereWho Will Be Raptured? 13:00 are many friends that I know that they can't win their their friends to Christ, and they have bought this book, and they have written them a letter. That If you've decided not to follow Christ and you are still here, I13:09 want you to know that this is how the future will pan out. And I want to tell you, there's not a movie out there as terrifying as what's going to happen if you don't put your faith in Christ, and if you're not with us in13:20 the rapture. The events that we'll cover when we jump back in here in February, there's not a movie as graphic as it's. You don't want to be here. I want to tell you with urgency, come to Jesus Christ today.13:32 If you don't know, you'll spend eternity. If you are ninety nine percent sure, you are a hundred percent lost. Don't leave here. Don't log off online. Come to Jesus today, because I believe this.13:44 I believe we are standing on the edge of the rapture to happen... About to happen. I believe we were this close to this thing happening. There's no reason that... There's no... Nothing holding it13:56 back. Okay? And what will happen is this. We've looked at what the rapture is, but who will be raptured? Let's look at that. Just who will be raptured? Revelation four four says, around the throne were twenty14:08 four, thrones. And upon those thrones, I saw twenty four elders sitting, clothed in white garments, golden crowns on their head. Now who are the twenty four elders?14:19 That's you and I. That's that that's us. That's the church. You know what elders are. Ever elders in a church, they represent God's people. Now why twenty four? Well, there's a few reasons.14:31 There's twelve gates in the New Jerusalem in in heaven. Each of those twelve gates have a name of the twelve tribes of Israel on it. Each of those, are the foundations. When you look at the14:43 foundations of the new city, they have the twelve names of the apostles. So you have the twelve tribes, the twelve apostles, twelve plus twelve, twenty four. That's all of us.14:55 All of us believers. That's us that John is seeing in the future, sitting there with Jesus. It represents all of us. Now notice how he describes him. He said, I saw the twenty four elders sitting15:07 clothed in white garments. Now why in white garments? Because the blood of Christ has totally purified them, and they are totally clean without error. When you put your faith in Jesus Christ and what15:19 he's already done, the blood of Christ covers you and you are the righteousness of God. In the sight of God, you are totally clean. But how many of you know that we still have struggles? We still live in this old15:31 Adam suit, is what we call it. We still fall from time to time. We still struggle with things that we just can't keep... Can't quit or can't get over with. And we struggle. We say, I just wish I didn't have that sin no15:43 more. Well, the Bible says, you'll be clothed in white garments. That you will have a new body, a new resurrected body. And you won't struggle with the things that you once struggled with. You'll be totally righteous.15:55 Now, the Bible also says that Jesus will come back like a thief in the night. You know why they call it a thief a thief? Because you don't know when he's coming. If you knew when he was coming, you call the police.16:06 Right? You'd be ready. If you knew when he was coming, you'd be like me and have all kind of second amendment arms ready. And it's the day you've been waiting for. Right? You'd be all ready. You'd have all kind16:18 of stuff sitting out there. But that's why they're a thief. You don't know when. And look what first Thessalonians five two says. He says, for you know quite well the day of the Lord's return will come unexpectedly.16:31 Like a thief in the night, it'll come just like that. Heard a joke the other day of a woman that, returned home and she found an intruder in her home. And she was being robbed.16:43 She walked right in and he had all the jewelry in his hand and caught him in the act of robbing the home. And she's this little old lady, so she just yells out a Bible verse. She says, Acts two thirty eight, which16:55 we know means repent and, you know, be baptized. But she yelled at acts two thirty a, and this guy just stops. And she called the police and said, here's what's happened. The police come in and cuffed the guy, and the17:06 guy is frozen. And they cuffed him and they said, why did you stop when this little old lady just yelled scripture? She... And he said, scripture? She said she had an axe and two thirty eights.17:21 He didn't know. Jesus will come like a thief in the night. It'll be quick. Look at what Luke, chapter seventeen says. That night, two people will be asleep in one bed and one will be taken. Now,17:33 that's creepy. The other will be left. Two women will be grinding flour together in the middle and one will be taken. The other left. Let me let me ask you this. Yeah. Be honest with me. Have you have you all ever17:44 thought you've been raptured before? Like, have you ever thought you... Not raptured. Have you ever thought you'd missed the rapture? Yeah. Y'all too? Has anybody ever thought, I missed the rapture? Like, your your wife17:55 was gone or something, and you're like, I missed the rapture. Where's everybody at? Best Christian I've never... Okay. This makes me feel so much more normal. I had this happen to me last Christmas. Last Christmas, I'm,18:07 we woke up early, four in the morning. We did presents and everything. I said, I gotta take a nap. I went and took a nap. I woke up. Everybody's gone. My wife was gone. My wife was a much better person than me. Okay?18:18 She's gone. But what threw it off was, my my kids, they're not better than me. Right? Maybe my daughter, but I won't name the other one, Elijah. He's not better than18:29 me. And I'm like, where are they at? So then I thought, oh, they're playing a game. So I went up under the bed and looked, and I'm like, they're gonna jump out and scare them. But they were nowhere to be found. So then I18:38 went to the garage, I opened the garage, and her car is still there. And I'm thinking, I have been left behind. All these years, I ran about it. I have been left behind. So then I thought, what do I18:50 do? I said, I got it. I'm gonna find the two most godly people I know. And if they're still here, then I'm not raptured. They just maybe perhaps ran away. So I thought, well who's the most godly person I know? Who's the19:02 one? I said, got it. Miss Debbie, my mom. It's the most godly person I... And then the next on the list will probably be dad. Because my mom's much better than dad. Right? And so I go over to their house and I drive19:14 over to their house and I see my wife and kids and mom and dad, and they're all in there playing. And I'm gonna be honest, I sat in my truck for a minute and said, alright. I didn't I didn't miss the rapture. Okay? What19:25 they did is they walked through the woods, and they went over to my mom and dad's. They took a hike through the woods, and I was over there thinking I missed the rapture. Alright? It's gonna happen quick. It's gonna be19:35 just like that. One day it'll be sudden. Y'all, I'm gonna... I I'm gonna age myself with this. How many of y'all remember the old Kirk Cameron's, VHS tapes? Is... Look, you're already raising your hand. Left behind. A19:47 lot of you remember that. But left... Young people say VHS. What is that? Let me show you what this is. This is a VHS. It was a big machine. You had to put this in to watch19:59 one show. This looks like it could hold a lot. Right? No, it doesn't. It's one. You know, one one show. If you're rewinded, it takes a long time. My granny, I call her my granny gal.20:11 She used to take... Every, every time we would come over to her house, she would cook, and we would go fishing, and she would, you know, she'd cook. She'd throw down fish, and she'd throw down hush puppies. But she would20:22 always sit us in front of the TV and make us watch this Left Behind series. And I'm little now. This is terrifying. I still am scarred from this. Terrified. And we would go over there a lot because in those20:33 days, we were poor. We lived in a little trailer, and my dad was building the church. And there was, you know, there were maybe, you know, maybe sixty, seventy people in the church. And he was out building that church,20:44 and so we would have to go to grandmother's house and and and be their grandma's house. I said, we're there a lot. And every time every time we are there, almost every time, granny guys will come out. BJ,20:55 that's my older brother, Brent. Y'all come sit down now. I'm a cook, but y'all watch this left behind suit. It would scare the daylights out of me. Okay? I'm talking about, you know, pull out the21:07 rubber sheet, someone's wet in the bed kind of deal. Terrified. And then you remember that song that it had? Creepy song. Do you remember that? Two men walking up a hill. One disappears.21:20 One left standing still. I'd look over at my brother. I'd make sure he's still there. And it would get more creepy. I wish we'd21:31 all been red. There's no time to change your mind. The sun has come.21:44 You've been left behind. We would listen to this every week. It was terrifying. It was so terrifying. How many of you remember judgment21:55 journey? We remember in the south. Yeah. Yeah. Judgment journey, they take your judgment journey and they show you what happens after the rapture and how bad it's gonna be and it's terrific. I never went to judgment22:05 journey. You know why? My grandmother scared me every single week with this. So I was already prepared. I'm like, I've already seen that. I watch that three times a week. It's terrifying. But you know what it was? I22:16 mean, it was so terrifying y'all. Those times that I would just be holding on to my brother's shirt. Like, if we if we walk... We're gonna walk up the hill hypothetically today, we're we're going together. You know, I'm22:25 like this with them. And if we're gonna go up the hill together, one of us gonna be left behind ain't gonna be because I'm holding on to you. You ain't holding on to me, but I'm holding on to you. Everywhere we go today,22:32 I'm like this would be You go somewhere I go. I just... And he's like, get off me. I'm like, oh, we're just brother love. I love you. I just love you. You go up the hill, I go up here. We're going up the hill together,22:40 but one of us not gonna be left behind. I heard the song. You heard the song. Yeah. I'm not gonna really wanna be left behind. If you wanna be left behind, you can be left behind. I'm going with you. It's terrifying. Why22:49 did my granny do that? Because she loved me. Why does the bible lay out that the rapture, a real event is going to happen? Why does he tell us in advance?23:02 Why does he tell us to be prepared? Why does he tell us come to Christ right now? Because he loves you, and he wants to pull you out of this earth before the judgment of Christ comes upon23:13 this earth. For all those who have openly said, I don't want anything to do with God. I want to live my life the way I wanna live it. I don't care about God. I don't believe in God. I don't want it.23:25 And he's he's he's begging you to say, I'm telling you what's gonna happen because I love you and I wanna pull you out of the way. He came as a lamb to be slaughtered for our sins. But when he comesWhen Will the Rapture Happen? 23:37 back, he will be a lion. And and and the events that are gonna happen, we're gonna talk about him in February, but trust me, you don't want to be here. You don't want any of your23:49 friends to be here that are unchurched. You don't want any of your family... No one will wanna be here during those days when holy God pours out his wrath upon people who say, we24:01 reject your son. We don't want anything you have to offer, and we trample on his blood, and we don't care. You don't wanna be here during that time. So he tells us about the rapture because he loves us. Now, when will24:13 the rapture take place? That's what the rapture is, and that's who's going. When will it take place? Look at verse two. Immediately. John says, immediately.24:25 He says, immediately I was in the spirit. Behold, a throne was standing in heaven, and someone was sitting on the throne. Now, who's sitting on the throne? Jesus. Let me give you... I'll help you out with this. Some of24:36 you, I know you're new to church. It's great. We're so glad you're here. If you grew up in church, you know the answer when the preacher asks the question. Ninety nine percent of the time, it's Jesus. That'll help you24:48 throughout the rest of the year. I promise you. Told my daughter this trip the other day. They were doing a Bible question. And it's her... And in school, when I I said, baby, you gotta use old Sunday school tactics.24:57 Most of the time, it's Jesus. And they asked her some heady questions. She said, it's gotta be Jesus. And she she she got it right. And she told me, she said, daddy at work. I said, I know. So that's who's sitting on the25:08 throne. It's it's Jesus. But look at that. He said, immediately. Immediately. John's been writing the letters to the church, and immediately he's called in heaven. We spent time on25:19 seven weeks on chapter two and chapter three, talking about the church, the church, the church, the church. You know, we've been looking at when he says, you know, he that has ears, let him hear what the spirit says to25:30 the church. And now there's no church because the church is gone. We don't hear church no more in Revelation until way on down because the church is gone. What's that a picture of? That he's gonna remove25:42 the church before he brings judgment upon the earth. When is Jesus Christ coming for, his bride? No one knows. Everybody has tried to predict when the raptures25:54 happen. All of us have tried to predict. We've seen scholars try to predict, and one hundred percent of them has been wrong. I did a wedding for our drummer a couple years ago, and it was the big day that everybody...26:04 The whole world was saying the rapture is coming. I said, let's go forth with the wedding because we know this scripture says over in Matthew, but of that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of26:16 heaven, but my father only. Matter of fact, in Acts, when Jesus was ascending, it says this, they were looking intently up into the sky, as he was going, when suddenly two men26:28 dressed in white stood beside them. Said, men of Galilee, and said, why do you stand looking into the sky? The same Jesus who has been taken from you into heaven will come back in the same way26:40 you have seen him go into heaven. You know what they were doing? They were rebuking these men for just standing there looking up. He was saying, Now you know the truth. The Messiah has already come. He's paid for the26:51 sins of mankind. We were not righteous enough. We deserve eternal separation from God in a real place called hell, for our sins in the sight of a holy God. He has already been judged.27:03 He was the Messiah. He paid for our sins. Go tell everybody. Stop looking up. Yes. Be ready. But now your job is to get others ready. Stop looking up standing there. Get others ready.27:15 I believe there has been a loss of passion when I talk about the church in general, all across the world. A loss of passion for reaching lost people. That's what I believe. You're seeing churches nowadays27:27 not give invitations like we give invitations to come to Christ. We're seeing the church is still not... And when you look at numbers recovered from COVID. Well, now the Bible tells us27:39 this, that as the times get closer, do not forsake your gathering together, especially as the time draws near of God's return. That's what it tells us. So our passion should27:51 not be decreasing. It should be increasing. We should be more urgent than ever about sharing the gospel with our lost friends. We should be more urgent than ever to share the gospel with our family members, with our28:03 coworkers, with the person at Publix, with the waiter, with everybody we know because we know Christ's return is close. So we ought to make it our mission in life to wherever God puts us.28:15 I'm gonna share the gospel because you have the answer to their eternal state, where they will spend eternity. Do you care if they get left behind? If you care, you'll share. And so our28:26 passion should increase as we know the time is coming closer and closer. Now, no one knows when the time will be. Someone said the other day, they said, I was walking out of service last28:38 week and they said, what are you preaching on next week? I said, I'm preaching on the rapture. They said, oh, that's scary. I said, no, it's not scary. If you're a believer, that's not scary. If you're a believer, don't28:46 you want to be a part... Don't you... Aren't you ready to get out all this mess? Aren't you ready to get to be with Jesus? Aren't you ready to be in a place that's perfect? You know the only thing in our hearts that28:57 says, I'm not ready? Is either if you don't know Christ for certain, or it's if you begin to think about those people in your lives that haven't found Him yet. The only thing that holds the29:09 believer back to saying, I'm ready to go right now. The only thing that holds the believer back to saying, I'm ready to go right now. Is that father. Is that son. Is that brother. Is that person that29:21 you... That waiter. That person... That friend at the gym that you were. It's that person you say, if I go, who will tell them? So I want to tell you, if God's bringing someone to your mind right now, that is the Holy29:31 Spirit saying, this is the one that I want you to reach. I want to use you to reach this person. So I want to tell you, with urgency, share the gospel of Jesus29:43 Christ. Share your story. Share what God's done in your life. Bring them to church to hear the gospel. The times are near, but no one knows when it's coming. We're not waiting for some fulfillment29:55 of a prophecy. I want to tell you that. I want to be clear about that. For the rapture. We see all this stuff going on in the Middle East, but no signs prove that Jesus' rapture is going to be any sooner or any30:07 later. Remember Paul was expecting Jesus to come back in his lifetime? Every Christian ought to expect Jesus to come at any moment. First Corinthians fifteen fifty two says, in30:19 a what? Moment. In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound and the dead in Christ will be raised and perishable, and we will be changed. In the30:30 moment is what he said. In the twinkling of an eye. You know how many times you blink your eyes a day? Twenty thousand times. On average, twenty thousand. That tells us there is twenty thousand times a day30:43 that Jesus could return and rapture us. In the blink of an eye is what he says. In the blink of an eye. You ever notice when big department stores like Lowe's or Home Depot, when Halloween is over, the next30:54 day you can walk in, and what do you see? It's Christmas. You see Christmas. Does that mean that Christmas is the next holiday? What's the next holiday after Halloween? Thanksgiving. Thanksgiving. Christmas is not31:06 next. It's Thanksgiving. All these signs that we see are things that are gonna happen after the rapture. It's things that are getting set up for the second coming or the great31:18 tribulation. There are things that indicate Christmas, so to speak. Thanksgiving is next. Thanksgiving is now.
