1:17 Alright. Welcome, everybody. It's October twentieth twenty twenty six. We are live here at the Yrefi Studios in Phoenix, Arizona. Blake is on assignment today. Let me move a little to my left.
1:29 So it's gonna be you and me and some great guests. We've got a lot of news to cover and a lot of interesting stories that are sort of percolating beneath the surface, but that expound
1:41 upon our moment in profound detail. And I think they're really telling. So we've got races all across the country. We've got updates in Arizona that I really can't wait to give you. We just came hot off
1:53 the presses moments before we went live, so I'll start there, frankly. The mail ballot has been widely discussed on social media. Is it
2:05 telling us what we hope it is telling us, that the polls have been wildly wrong, that we are actually in a much better place than we might have believed, especially early September? I believe that the early
2:17 returns are showing a lot of strength for the Republican Party, the conservative movement writ large. Now this latest Maricopa County drop went thirty nine percent Republican, thirty eight
2:28 percent Democrat, and seven... Or twenty three percent independent. Okay? This is a really good sign. That means Republicans actually came out ahead in the most recent Maricopa drop. We
2:40 did not accomplish this feat in twenty twenty two until the Friday before the election. Let me repeat that. Republicans winning a drop in Maricopa County did
2:52 not happen in twenty twenty two, the year that Katie Hobbs was elected, until the Friday before the election. We are pacing far above and far, in front of where we were in twenty twenty two. Remember
3:04 in twenty twenty two, Katie Hobbs won. You can use asterisk, air quotes if you want. She won by seventeen thousand votes. A tight razor thin margin in an
3:16 election with a lot of shenanigans and polling error malfunctions and all the other things. And so we are we are way ahead of where we were in twenty twenty two, which is a great sign, which is a great sign. It doesn't
3:26 mean we're gonna win. It means you need to go harder. So I'm gonna ask the team throw up commit one hundred, please. T p action dot com slash one hundred. This is... Should be inspiration
3:38 for you to get involved in this election. You need to be a part of the solution. Go to t p action dot com slash one hundred today. Do your part. Be a part of the solution. Don't be the doomers. Don't be the
3:50 gloomers. Don't be the people that say, oh, the Democrats, we wanna show the Republicans and teach them a lesson for that Iran war, so we're gonna go vote Democrat. We're gonna be independent. We don't like any
4:02 of the parties. Okay. Don't be that guy. Get off the couch and actually do something to save the republic. You have the franchise. You have the agency. Go out and make a
4:14 difference. Get your family and your friends, everybody involved because these stakes increasingly become existential. I'm sorry that every election is more important than the last. It's because they're getting crazier.
4:25 So it means your action, your agency is more important than it's ever been. So please, I beg you. Honor Charlie. Honor this show. Honor the work that so many patriots are doing across the country. Get off the couch.
4:36 Volunteer with us. If you do commit one hundred, all it is is we're gonna give you a hundred names. Those hundred names belong to you. You are going to commit to getting those names in their ballots into the ballot box
4:47 before election day. And these are conservatives. They just happen to be low propensity conservatives. They don't always show up. I did it this weekend. Me and Ryan on the team, we went out knocking doors, went two by
4:58 two, biblical fashion. We knocked doors. The people were wonderful. Wonderful people. Everybody was great. They all agreed with us. They said, oh, I'll get it in. I'll get it in. I'm gonna keep harassing the people that
5:08 I visited, and it's all in the app. So get the TP Action app while you're at it. Okay. So that's my pitch, my shameless pitch. But there is this prevailing sense, and it's coming from
5:20 usual suspects. In this case, Matthew McConaughey. It says, let's take the best ideas of both parties. Let's just merge them and fuse them together.
5:32 Let's stop being Republican and Democrat. So divisive. We don't like divisiveness. We don't like being mean. Now I... Listen. I like Matthew McConaughey as an actor. I think he's pretty good. I think he's a, you know, an
5:44 iconic American actor. I can support that. But he's doing this thing where people think they can find a third way, and they could avoid all the controversy. They could avoid all of the hard discussions, and they get to
5:55 be the middle guy, the good guy. He gets to appeal to everybody. Everybody's happy. It doesn't work that way. Not when the left is a maniacal, un American force
6:07 that is hell bent on destroying our nation. But that... I'll get there in a second. Let's go ahead and play some of this. I don't know if you guys have seen this clip. It went viral on social media yesterday. Matthew
6:18 McConaughey said, hey. Independence. We are the most powerful people in the country, actually. Stop fourteen.
6:24 So they've been telling us for years that an independent vote is a wasted vote. Well, a great question for our times is, how's that, unwasted
6:37 vote been working out for you? Yeah. Now before we go any further, I wanna let you know this is not about me right now. This is about the upcoming ballot, and I am not here today to to
6:48 endorse a candidate or a party. I am here endorsing two things, fairness and reality. See, I believe in a fair fight, and a fair fight is not just two fighters
7:00 throwing the same punches at each other for fifty years. Fair fight is when the fighters who ought to be represented in the fight are actually in the fight.
7:08 That's fair. So he's been saying, hey. You you think the independent vote is wasted, but let's get all these independent candidates out there. Look at Joe Manchin. He had all this power. We need to start pulling the
7:20 extremes away from the left and the right and bring them all together in an independent vote. Now that might sound really good. That might sound nice to a normie. That might sound nice to somebody who's sort of, like,
7:32 you know, barely checked into the political process. But what he's really saying is that both sides have good ideas. Both sides make sense on certain things. So let's pick and choose,
7:44 hold them accountable, and make everybody stop being so extreme. Now I just reject the premise, Matthew McConaughey. I think maybe your intentions are good. Maybe they're selfish. You said it's not about
7:56 you, so we won't make it about you. But here's the deal. Let's go through the list. Let's go through the list. What is the left better on exactly? Are
8:08 they better on the border? No. No. Objectively, no. Are they better on education? They wanna indoctrinate your kids. They wanna trans your kids. They don't want
8:20 to let you get school choice or vouchers to take your skits to a... Kids to a Christian school or a classical education school. Nope. So they're not better there. Schools are failing. Most kids in urban court
8:32 can't read or write at grade level. They can't do math at grade level. What about taxes? Oh, yeah. They wanna tax you more. They wanna take more of your money, and they wanna spend it on inefficient government projects.
8:42 I've heard it said, and I believe this. I think Elon Musk said it that the federal government and probably a lot of state governments, thinking of you, California, New York, Illinois, are the least efficient distributors
8:53 of capital, meaning money, in the history of the world. I think that's probably true. So taxes, no. They're not better at that. What about the environment? Green new scam? They wanna spend trillions of dollars on
9:05 wind farms while your power goes out at your house. You have rolling blackouts? No. What about drilling? Fossil fuels? No. Trump has destroyed all of their their previous
9:16 precedents. We are the leading exporter, the leading producer of energy in the world. No. He's... They're not better on that. What about choice? No. We have freedom. In the conservative movement, we believe in personal
9:27 freedom. We don't believe that the state should sanction you. More and more, we're gonna get into this, and I have an amazingly delicious story that is... You guys have to be clued in on
9:39 about Americans traveling to Europe and regretting their decision. Because guess what? The socialist utopia, the nirvana that they promised you, this pie in the sky fantasy, it doesn't exist, and it won't exist here
9:49 either.
9:52 Independence don't just have leverage. They actually are the leverage. Think of the eyes as the as the toll booth between an idea and a law. Every bill
10:04 coming from the left or the right has to stop at that booth and answer one question. Does this make sense to the middle? The extreme stuff can't can't pay the toll. I understand if the goal is to
10:16 change how both parties behave, if the goal is to bring them back to the middle where most American values live, then electing independence is a mechanism to make that happen. The reality is midterms are
10:28 coming. And this November, in more places than ever, you do have more than two choices.
10:34 Alright. Alright. Alright. Fine. Alright. The political scientist, Matthew McConaughey, is trying to explain politics, and I can all... I only have I only have so much patience for it. Okay? I can
10:46 only listen to Hollywood actors explain politics for so long. And, again, I like Matthew McConaughey. I got nothing personally against him, but come on. I don't know if he's trying to run for governor or something at
10:56 some point. But, again, this premise, you you guys need to go find common cause with your Democrat alley. You gotta pay the toll. You gotta come... You gotta stop being so extreme. But, again,
11:09 what good ideas does the Democrat party have? Free speech? Absolutely not. Political weaponization? Just listen to Elise Lock, and we're gonna get into that in just a minute here
11:20 with the CEO of American Moment who helps staff Washington DC, helps staff the Trump administration. She wants to she wants to terrorize them. She wants to send a message that you do
11:32 not wanna get into conservative politics or lest you will be prosecuted. You might end up in prison. Second amendment? Nope. They're not good on that either.
11:45 Spending? Absolutely not. Good lord. If you think Republicans are bad, just imagine what the Democrats wanna do. Think about Medicare for all. That is the whole point of the Democrat
11:57 race in... For senate in Michigan. El Sayed. They're doing the same thing in Maine. That is what we need. Medicare for all. We need Medicare for all. So that is the Democrat. I'm telling you, I just did this NewsNation
12:09 thing with Chris Cuomo and Stephen A. Smith, bunch of dems, libs all over that show. Medicare for all. Medicare for all. Single payer. Single payer. It's as if none of them have actually looked at how much
12:21 that would cost. Probably upwards of fifty six trillion dollars over the next ten years on top of current spending levels. So if you think that the Democrats are gonna willingly give
12:32 up any of that budget spend that we're already spending on entitlements, if you think they're gonna roll back any spending, because remember, that's how they buy the votes. They buy the votes of the permanent underclass,
12:43 the government government dependent underclass in this country that we have created ourselves, and they buy the votes of the foreigners that are also on welfare that they imported. So they want that money. They're not
12:55 they're not gonna give up any of the current spending levels. And then they're gonna add on top of it. And how are they gonna pay for that? The only way to make those two ends meet is to tax the hell out of you. That's
13:06 their answer for making everything more affordable is to just tax you. Tax the hell out of you. So they're not good on that. But Medicare for all. Let's talk about this. So the Democrats like to think that... And if you
13:18 poll this, it's true. The the polling suggests that... The American people think that the Democrats are better on health care. I don't know why, but that is actually what the polling would suggest.
13:31 Now they came up with the Affordable Care Act, but has it made health care more affordable? No. Not at all. And there is a beautiful new article out of Wired that you guys you guys have to check out. This This is just
13:42 one of the most beautiful things I've ever seen. Wired says they fled Trump's America. Now they regret it. We have the graphic here. One thirty nine. It says the
13:53 Internet told them Europe was a social paradise. Turns out the trains are awful. The health care isn't free, and people can be really mean. Oh, look at that. Look at that. Thank you, Wired, for a rare
14:05 dose of journalism. And listen to one of these quotes. So it goes through in interviews. You can just leave that up if you want. But it interviews all these Americans that led or that fled America when Trump was elected
14:16 because they thought that, you know, the social paradise, free health care, childcare, I'll have to work twenty eight hours a week, and everything's gonna be free, and I'll just hang out at a cafe and sip my cappuccino.
14:29 Well, it turns out... Here's one quote. They moved before the end of the year, but the reality of life in the UK was dramatically different to what she'd imagined. Quote, there are huge misconceptions
14:41 about access to quality health care, standard of living. The quality of life is significantly lower than it is in the US, she says, citing the challenges she experienced with the National Health Services maternity care,
14:52 having moved while pregnant with her first child, as well as the lack of disposable income in Britain thanks to lower salaries. Quote, things in the UK are considered luxury items are very common in
15:04 America, like a dishwasher and a dryer, she adds. Annie says she's experienced a high amount of anti American sentiment straight away. I found it particularly surprising how people feel so comfortable mocking my accent
15:16 and culture, even in a workplace environment, she says. The UK is very much a place of, quote, it is what it is. But as Americans, we are taught to always improve and strive for better things. Annie and her
15:28 husband now have an exit plan for summer next year, the earliest their employers would allow them to relocate back to America. And on and on and on. People living in Poland, people living in
15:39 Spain. You do not realize how good you have it. And I've never really told this story on this show. But when I graduated college, I had an anti American bias. I'll admit.
15:51 I thought we were backwards. I thought we did things the wrong way. I had done a little traveling in Europe, and I thought really glowingly about it. And then I went and I traveled abroad for a couple years. Lived in
16:01 Africa. I lived in London. Spent a long time in Cyprus. I lived in Spain. I did a lot of traveling. And at the end of that travel, you know what I realized? I couldn't wait to get
16:13 home. And I've only gone back to Europe once since. I do my best. I do my my absolute best not to leave America anymore. I love it here. We have
16:25 the best everything, and things are not perfect. But we have a spirit, a drive, and energy that animates the American spirit that is unlike anything else I've ever experienced around the world.
16:37 And most Americans simply need to experience the alternative to realize how good they have it. And sadly, I don't know if our political system has enough time on the clock to let enough people experience how good they
16:49 have it to save the republic. So please hear my cry. Hear my plea. Understand that America is still the best place on the planet. There is something about America, this unceasing energy
17:00 that seems to emerge out of just the quality of the people, the spirit of the people. By the way, this is all another reason why we need to protect the people as they are,
17:12 the way that our country is demographically, culturally, spiritually, our religion. These are the things that animate the American spirit that make us who we are, and we need to protect them with every fiber in our
17:23 being. We cannot allow a third world invasion to transform and replace us. We have to make sure that this gift of America continues going forward. So the American people, we have a choice.
17:36 What are the Democrats better? What ideas do we need to borrow from them to make our ideas make sense or to make them more appealing to more people? And the truth is, if you go up and down the list, even health
17:48 care, the thing that they tend to pull the best on, in lived reality, in the UK, the NHS, it doesn't deliver. Canada, the same thing. You got Canadians coming down for cancer treatment all the time.
18:00 Do not trade your birthright. Remember how good you have it. Hear the stories of those that have returned back, and believe them because we have it really darn good here.
18:13 Alright, everybody. If you have a family, you know that you gotta be prepared for your family. And before this season gets even busier, we're about to head into the fall, back to school, got holidays just around the

19:44 That's policy genius dot com. Without further ado, I wanna bring in our guest, Nick Solheim. He's the CEO of American Moment. You can check him out at American Moment dot org.
19:56 Nick, welcome to the show. You know, I've been following your guys' work for a long time. Blake is familiar with you guys as well. You guys took it upon yourself, and I think it was a truly important mission
20:08 because it was a a gap in the conservative movements sort of protocol or or workflow, if you will. Staffing, DC. When Trump came in, you guys wanted to be ready to hit the hit
20:20 the blocks running and be able to staff that. Now you have a sitting US senator saying that if they get back power, they are going to persecute and prosecute a lot of people, not just Trump, but around
20:32 Trump. And she wants to send a deterrence to twenty four year olds who might wanna work in the administration. Now this hits home for you guys. I I just... I... Again, I think she doesn't know the seriousness of what she
20:44 said, but what do you interpret what she said? What does it mean to you guys who work with so many of these young Americans that are patriots who wanna serve their country?
20:52 Yeah. Well, Andrew, first of all, thanks so much for having me. A long time listener, first time caller. I I had the I had the privilege of working with, Charlie on the president's transition
21:04 team, after the election in twenty twenty four. And if people listening to this could take one thing away from the way that the Trump administration is currently operating, It's that, by and
21:16 large, the government is run by people between the ages of, twenty two and thirty five years old. Now, of course, you have your cabinet secretaries, you have the president, you have the undersecretaries,
21:28 the assistant secretaries. But by and large, the people on a day to day basis who are writing the regulations, reviewing what's set in statute, actually attempting, to
21:40 implement the president's agenda, staying, you know, at the Department of Homeland Security or, the Department of Health and Human Services until eleven midnight, actually trying to achieve
21:52 the president's agenda. By and large, these people are young. They're they're my age. And I think what we've seen from these comments from senator Slutkin is that she recognizes that
22:03 that is where the real power is. And it's an intimidation tactic designed to scare young conservatives away from getting involved, whether it be in the administration,
22:15 working on Capitol Hill, maybe working on a nonprofit here in DC, or even, you know, as we saw during the Biden administration era, getting involved locally. Right? Getting out, knocking on doors, being involved
22:27 in your county Republican committee. These are all things that strike fear into the heart of, into the hearts of the left. And so that's what I think she's focused on at the end of the
22:39 day. She recognizes the people that have actually been achieving mass deportations, that have been keeping America safe, that have been, balancing our unfair trade regime. The bulk of that
22:51 work, by and large, has been done, by young staffers serving in this administration. And Well, then what she is saying with these comments is that she wants to keep all of those young people away.
23:03 No. And I just wanna give you guys so much credit because what we learned from Trump one point o, we gotta we gotta reiterate the lessons we learned. We learned in Trump one point o that personnel is policy. And when you
23:14 see the border numbers, when you see the legal immigration getting cut more than illegal immigration, when you see the clampdown on all this fraud, when you see the clampdown on all this visa fraud, when you see
23:25 the rooting out of DEI in in favor of meritocracy, which is the American way, when you see these based absolutely unthinkable policies getting an acted in DC
23:37 in Trump two point o. And I understand some people aren't happy completely. I get it. But by and large, this has been a generational transformation of leadership in Washington. Why is that possible? Because
23:49 organizations like yours took the initiative to ramp up and get prepared in advance. And now she's coming after you. She's coming after you. And by the way, Nick, she's she's claiming victim.
24:01 She's saying that these are authoritarian tactics. This is... She's... We're trying to intimidate her. Stop five.
24:07 Also to to kind of, like, try to play, you know, reverse Uno or whatever on you and and push back. And I I think the goal, by the way, is to intimidate. The goal is to create so many threats against
24:19 you, your family, and your staff that you shut up. My staff has been doxxed today. I mean, it has been a very tough day for us purposely. They're doing that purposely. And I think people need to understand that these are
24:31 kind of the authoritarian tactics that are used across the world, not just by this president, but by by people who understand that threats of physical violence get their opponents to shut up. That's their
24:42 goal.
24:44 This is truly unbelievable. Unbelievable. So she goes out and makes a threat that she's gonna prosecute everybody, and the Democrats are gonna prosecute everybody. And now she's the victim, Nick. She's the victim. And
24:55 she goes on to say it's manufactured outright. I gotta play this one too, and then I'll let you respond, Nick. Sat two.
25:00 Your colleague, senator Mike Lee, Republican of Utah, tweeted, quote, it is absolutely disgraceful to threaten young Americans for participating in politics and serving their country, unquote. What's your response to
25:11 that? Do you think your comments are deterring qualified young people from public service?
25:17 Yeah. Well, look. That's manufactured outrage. That's his specialty.
25:21 Oh, okay. Nick, your reaction.
25:25 I I think the thing that's most, illustrative about this, and I would have loved to see, the clip as well where, she said the reason that she was being, pushed back on is because she is a
25:36 woman. Oh, yeah. That one too. Great. Great. We'll get the chance to view that. Look. The thing that I think here at the end of the day is all that we've been suggesting is that,
25:48 you know, if this is the standard that she wants to apply to conservatives, I think it applies to her and her office just as well. I'm not accusing, you know, people in her office of,
26:01 of any wrongdoing per se. But if she if she wants to take a serious look at intimidating staff, we should know what exactly her
26:13 staff is doing with your taxpayer dollars, by the way, to investigate young people who are giving up lucrative careers, who are giving up, time with their family, who are taking serious
26:25 professional and legal liability by serving the president, we should know, whether or not your tax dollars are paying for that. I was just seeing, right before
26:37 I joined you here that, Caitlin Deese at the, Washington Examiner was out with a a breaking news story that somebody has filed an ethics complaint, to the ethics committee against senator
26:49 Slotkin for her comments. And I would be very interested to see if, senator Lankford, senator Risch, from the great state of Idaho, senator Deb Fischer, really look into these
27:01 comments and open an investigation. I think that's something that all young conservatives would love to see.
27:06 I totally agree. And by the way, leader Thune should should... They should pursue censoring her. I think that it needs to happen because you can't... She... I mean, this... Remember this... She's the, she she and, Mark
27:17 Kelly were the ones that came out and said, you know, encourage servicemen to disobey direct orders. This this is the same Alyssa Slotkin that that is time and time again overstepping her bounds
27:28 and saying really dramatically crazy things. Talking like republic ending things. How can you have peaceful transfer of power if you think... If president Trump thinks that when he
27:40 transitions out, say a Democrat wins next time. If he thinks that all of the people, young people, might have legal liability, might be prosecuted by the incoming Democrat administration. How can you have peaceful
27:52 transfer of power? This... It's the craziest thing. And now you mentioned it, so I'm gonna play it. This is another one of her lines she's she's spewing, SOT sixteen.
28:00 I do think there's something about being a woman in criticizing them and calling them out on that corruption that really gets under their skin, obviously, or they wouldn't respond, you know, remember the second
28:09 amendment, sweetheart, or all that crap.
28:11 Oh, it's because you... It's because you're a woman. Yeah. That's why. That's why. You play all the different cards you want. Go ahead, Nick.
28:18 Yeah. I'm I'm I'm I'm I'm much more inclined to be, opposed to senator Slotkin because she, used to be an officer of the CIA as opposed to her being a woman.
28:27 But Well, exactly.
28:28 I digress.
28:29 So, hey, you you made an important observation, though. We can't just leave this at statements. So what are the practical actions? And you guys, I want you to, push this as well, Nick. You guys have a, a program
28:42 for young people that wanna come and get trained up to go into the administration too that I wanna highlight. So what... But what should our, our reaction be here? Minute and a half.
28:50 Yes. I'm very grateful for, several members of the United States house and senate, who have been active on this, over the last forty eight hours. That includes congressman
29:01 Brandon Gill. That includes senator Mike Lee, and many others. But I think the thing that I would say at the end of the day, is statements, social media posts, etcetera, including mine, by the
29:13 way, are meaningless if we don't have any action. And so I would say, you know, if you're sitting at home and you happen to live in Oklahoma or Idaho or in Nebraska, I would highly
29:25 recommend that you call your, your senator who's sitting on the ethics committee, and encourage them to investigate this.
29:32 Yes.
29:32 As it relates to what young people should be doing, American Moment has this great program. It's the thing that I'm the most proud of called the fellowship for American statecraft. What we do is
29:44 we pay you to get your first job in Washington DC, whether that's in the administration or on Capitol Hill. You spend four days a week as an intern, either on Capitol Hill or
29:56 serving at the Department of Homeland Security, the White House, the State Department. You spend all day with us, on Friday getting training on how to be a political staffer, and we, do our level best to
30:08 get you a job. You can apply for that at American Moment dot org slash fellowship.
30:13 Beautiful. American Moment dot org slash fellowship. Young people listening to this, watching this, sign up for it. Staff the Trump administration. Tell Slocum where she can stuff it. Nick, thank you so much.
30:28 A powerful message, a call to patriotism, and a reminder of what we stand for. Experience. May God bless America. It ends here
30:39 by Jason Bellard, Steve Gruber, and The Freedom Project, a song about faith, freedom, and the future of our great nation. Now from real America's

30:56 And humbly ask. Bring us forward to the day when every tear is
31:26 Wow. So Real America's Voice is behind that project, and I love that song. Jason Ballard is coming out, and you gotta support it. Throw the graphic up. You guys can get the
31:38 track at this QR code here. Support this artist who is making music about blessing America, supporting America. Supporting America. It's actually good. You know, they had that... What was that
31:50 guy who had the... That came out, like, a couple years ago with the beard, and he was, like, the the hick lib guy? Talk Oliver Anthony. That's who it was. This guy's like that,Show more
