  14. 62#79 Searching for the Barley in a Time of War?This week, we are preparing to attend the NRB in Nashville, Tennessee, and we have interviews with some big names, so I hope you tune in to the podcasts, where they and many other updates will take place live as they happen. I am very excited about all that is taking place and the potential developing this year compared to last year. Please do keep us in your prayers. Immediately after the NRB, half of our team will be leaving directly from Nashville to fly to Tel Aviv and begin the barley search for the first Aviv, green heads of grain. We will have approximately 15 searchers coming this year from around the world. The USA, Iran and Israel continue to posture with each other about preemptive first strike and retaliatory strikes. I want you all to seriously pray and ask Yehovah to keep us in the palm of His hand and to protect us. We are there doing precisely what He has asked in searching for the very first fruits. We ask for His protection and guidance to find it and find plenty of it, so that there will be no argument. We ask that He make it very plain for all to see. Most of us will be flying home on March 16, 2026. There is one other mission that I must investigate on this tour. I will also be fasting leading up to that event, and I again seek your covering in prayer. I will explain it to you all after I get back. And all of you need to plan and prepare for Passover and deleavening your homes just in case we do find barley. Be prepared. If the barley is Aviv by Wave Sheaf Day on March 8, 2026, then all these dates are very close, depending on when the moon will be seen.   16. 64# 77 Hit The Spiritual Reset Button | Podcast with Sombra WilsonArticle written by Sombra Wilson. I’m taking a class with Simonette Cherepanov from sevenlampwellness.com called Back To Eden – Renewing Your Mind. It’s a 21 day journey using cycles of 7 to take captive our thoughts and reset our body, mind and spirit to what it was designed to be from the Garden. I really love this program. It is so similar to what Joe teaches us about cycles of seven on a macroscopic level. Where he’s teaching us about Sabbatical Years and Jubilee Years and Millennial days, what Simi is teaching us is about sets of 7 days to deal with the inner thoughts. It’s a microscopic look at what Yehovah’s plan is for us. You know how Joe so often talks about Matthew 24 and about how we have to have oil in our lamps. We usually say the oil is Mitzvot. It’s the keeping of the commandments. You have to have a history of keeping these commandments to have a quantity of oil in your lamp, you can’t just go buy it at the last minute. Well this oil, like olive oil, it comes from the crushing of the fruit, the pulp of the olive flesh. In the same way, when we are crushed, when we go through those trials, those tests, we prove, or fail to prove, that we have learned the message of the commandments and know how to live it all out. A teacher can teach us torah, but until we start living it ourselves, we have not yet done these mitzvot. This oil is based on our own relationship, this intimacy we have developed ourselves. It can’t be bought, nor inherited. We sometimes say “God doesn’t have grandchildren – just because your parents were believers doesn’t make you a child of God. – You have to choose to be a child of God yourself. It’s YOUR choice. So you have to develop your own intimacy. So Simi is teaching us this class, and we sit and learn from her for about an hour or so a day, but then we have to go do the work ourselves. Let me share with you a little of the class. Every day we start the session with Thanksgiving, Praise and Worship. Let me give you an example: Abba Father, I’m so thankful that you are using me to share with Ryan and the podcast audience all the things you are teaching me. I’m thankful for the direction you are leading me in to heal that defenseless little girl within me and teach me that I don’t need to defend myself, for You are my Buckler and Shield. You hold me in the palm of Your Hand and you defend me under the shelter of Your Wings. I’m so thankful that the fear and anger I have felt is dissipating, that I don’t need to have the anxiety anymore, that the rage I once felt which led me to sin in my anger has all but vanished and now I am comfortable patiently waiting for You do defend me in what ever way You choose to resolve my conflicts. I Praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. I praise You for You keep your promises, even when I fail to keep mine. I praise You because You covenant covers me, and your mercy gives me time to learn to obey and your grace guides me back to the righteous path. I Worship You with my whole body, mind and spirit. I come in supplication under Your authority, to rule and reign in my life. I worship you with singing and dancing, with every movement of my body, with every chore I perform, I do it for Your glory. I pray that I reflect Your image as I daily serve you my King.The next step in the program is to do a 7 minute breathing exercise. The rhythm of the breathing goes like this, we breath in through the nose, from the belly, breath in for 5 seconds. Then you hold the breath for 5 seconds, then you release the breath slowly through the nose for 10 seconds, really emptying the lungs. Then the pattern begins again, breathe in, hold, release. We do this rhythm for 7 minutes, there are 3 rounds per minute, so 7 minutes means 21 cycle of this breathing pattern – you’ll see how 21 plays into this program in a few minutes, and at the end of the 7 minutes, with empty lungs, you hold your breath as long as you can. While we’re doing this breathing, we listen to a recording Simi made which reinforces what’s going on inside us while we’re doing the breathing. Let me read through this 7 minutes and see if you can follow along with the breathing while I read her script. A seven minute cellular reset designed into the human body by God. Breath is a gift from God. Rest is a command. Renewal is a promise. There is nothing spiritual about the breathing pattern itself. It is simply a tool God placed within our physiology. What is spiritual is what we choose to focus on during the stillness. Our focus is gratitude, worship, scripture, identity in Messiah, the renewal of our mind. As Paul writes in Romans 12:2, be transformed by the renewing of your mind. This practice simply creates the biological conditions that make the renewal easier for the brain to receive. We will use the patterns in the back to Eden Renewing Your Mind book in order to strengthen our inner self to our father’s original design by practicing what some call CBT and DBT; cognitive behavioral therapy or dialectic behavioral therapy. therapies that Simmonette Cherepanov is certified to teach and she prefer to call it what it is; biblical instructional behavior. We can never go wrong following his word. He is our creator and father of all. So now that we have set the premise for this practice, let’s get glean from the research that many have developed in the past few decades thanks to the advance of technology. Recent research from MIT, Harvard, and Stanford has revealed something remarkable. A specific pattern of slow intentional breathing can activate the cellular renewal pathways that fasting activates. This is not mystical. This is not tied to Eastern practices. This is simply part of the design God placed in the human body. Scripture tells us that our father breathed life into us. Genesis 2:7. Breath is part of his creation. Not just a survival mechanism but a tool for restoration. What is autophagy? Autophagy is God designed process for our body’s cellular cleanup where the body removes damaged proteins, repairs stressed cells, recycles old components and restores healthy function. In 2016, the Nobel Prize in Physiology went to Hoshinori Osumi for mapping how autophagy works. This discovery confirmed what scripture has always shown us. Renewal is built into creation. Until recently, people believe only long fasting could activate autophagy. But new scientific breakthroughs showed that your breath also triggers these pathways because God designed your nervous system, oxygen level, and CO2 balance to communicate directly with your cells. What is the science behind the breath activated autophagy? Researchers from MIT and Harvard found that slow control breathing can signal the body to shift from growth mode to repair mode, activating the same cleanup system triggered by fasting. There is also another very well-known study in the Netherlands by Wimhof. It’s called the Wimhof method. This study on control breathing demonstrates that particular breath activates the EMPK pathway, one of the main switches that triggers autophagy. EMPK is like the body’s repair switch. Breathing affects it directly. The research that Stanford carried outwas on hypoxia in 2023 showed that slow breathing and long exhale mimic the metabolic signature of fasting increases ketones suppressed and the growth signal and activates autophagy genes all without changing diet. Why this matters? Modern life keeps many people in constant fight or flight, preventing the body from entering renewal mode. The results: brain fog, emotional exhaustion, sluggish thinking, stressdriven cravings. Scripture speaks over and over about stillness in quietness and trust is your strength. Isaiah 30:15. Be still and know that he is our Elohim, our God. Psalm 46:10.He restores my soul. Psalm 23:33.Science is now catching up with the reaity that God hardwire renewal into rest and breath. The breath pattern you will learn today is inhale 5 seconds, hold for 5 seconds, exhale 10 seconds. I like to use my hands for that. You inhale with one hand 5 seconds, the other hand you hold 5 seconds, and then you exhale with both hands 10 seconds. This ratio increases CO2 tolerance which allows oxygen to be delivered more efficiently throughout the body that it’s called the bore effect. It also signals the brain to switch into parasympathetic mode. The place where your body heals. The extended exhale is the primary trigger. This will have two phases. The first phase would be from minutes 1 to 7. You will sit tall with a straight spine. This is not about appearance. It allows the vagus nervous to activate properly. Take a moment to notice your natural breath. This pattern calms the nervous system, improves oxygen efficiency, lowers stress hormones, increases CO2 tolerance, signals the body to enter cellular repair. It will be 21 cycles of 5, 5, and 10. The second phase is the final exhale hold. After the last exhale, hold your breath out for 30 to 60 seconds, keeping the body relaxed. Stanford research shows that this exhale retention phase creates the most powerful shift towards cellular cleanup and mental clarity. What you may feel is calmness, mental clarity, warmth in the body, reduce hunger, focus, a deep shift towards stillness. This is our body responding to our father’s design. The invitation is to practice this for 21 days. As you may notice, better focus, clearer thinking, calmer emotional response, fewer cravings, improved sleep, more stable energy, and a deeper sense of God’s peace. So Ryan, how did that breathing go? Do you feel a sense of calm? Do you feel energized? Oxygenated? Ryan, Have you been to Japan? Or just speak Japanese? Have you ever heard of Radio Taiso? Following that we do something called a Radio Taiso. This is a quick 3 minute exercise routine that has been practiced in Japanese culture for nearly 100 years. Every morning people gather in the streets or parks or schools and do these three minute simple movements that help with strength and flexibility and mobility. It’s a way people connect in Japan. We’re such a disconnected society in North America, most of us would feel foolish to just stop in the street and do some simple movements for 3 minutes, but in Japan it’s a way of life, and we all know the Japanese are famous for longevity. And it’s free, no gym membership or sweating or special workout gear. Themovements are timed to music, a simple piano tune plays so that you know when to change the exercise and help you with the rhythm of the movements. And everyone can do these, whether sitting or standing. All this is to just get your body and spirit set to get to work on your mind. We often see in modern psychology this idea “You’re not broken” when people face challenges. A person can be suffering from depression and the mantra is, you’re not broken. They want us to normalize mental health issues and just accept them as part of the experience of life. They want us to accept that others are the way they are and they need not change. But is that what Yehovah wants from us? If I feel bitterness because I’ve dealth with hardship in life, maybe I was raised in poverty and seeing my friends with the latest and greatest shoes and gaming computer and earphones etc. The world should just accept me that I’m a bitter person, it’s just the way I was made right? NO, That’s not how we were designed. We were made in the image of Yehovah, and like His Character is determined by the torah, so our character also is to be determined by the Torah. There is a principle in scripture, everything Yehovah created, he divided it, so that it can be restored. When Yehovah created Adam, He created Him, Male and Female. But then Yehovah divided Adam in to Man and woman – Adam and Chavah, Male and Female. When we choose a marriage partner, and come together in unity, we are now restored, a unit with both the male and female characteristics working together as one – we are made whole, complete when we are together. So we have experienced a division. There is a separation between us and Yehovah. We have a flesh, a physical body. We also have a spirit. These two parts have been separated and need a bridge to restore the breech. THe Flesh can live without the Spirit, but it is perpetually in survival mode. It has no idea it is missing the Spirit until the eyes are opened and the soul begins to bridge that gap between the body and the spirit. This book is about building this bridge in the soul – which is the mind – and over a 21 day cycle take captive a thought and bring it into submission to the Spirit. 2 Corinthians 10:3-6 3 For though we walk in the flesh, we are not waging war according to the flesh. 4 For the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh but have divine power to destroy strongholds. 5 We destroy arguments and every lofty opinion raised against the knowledge of God, and take every thought captive to obey Christ, 6 being ready to punish every disobedience, when your obedience is complete. Believe it or not, our thoughts have mass. You can weigh and measure a thought. A thought in your brain is held on something called a dendrite. This is all neuroscience. It looks like a little tree inside your brain. A healthy thought looks like a healthy tree, a negative thought though looks like a scraggly tree. When our brain is populated with allthese negative thoughts and we are suffering depression, we have to deal with these negative thoughts by dissolving these dendrites and growing new healthy dendrites in their place. This is called Neuroplasticity, the ability to grow new pathways in the brain to change our thought patterns. It was Dr Caroline Leaf who discovered it takes about 21 days to dissolve a negative thought and replace it with a budding new healthy thought. Simonette Cherepanov has taken this 21 days and broken it into 3 sets of 7 days of work. In the first week you are working on Identifying the warning signs of a specific toxic thought,this is at a physician level. The second week, we’re uncovering the root of this toxic thought, dealing with it on a soul level and, the third week we are looking at replacing that toxic thought with a righteous thought, dealing with it on a spiritual level. This cycle of 21 days begins the process of changing the neuropathways in your brain so that you can heal your mind. Simi suggests 3 of these 21 day cycles to make a solid change in the way your mind deals with triggers. Every day of the 7 days of the week are represented by a colour from the rainbow, which is also something Yehovah created with the pattern of 7, red, orange, yellow, green light blue, indigo and purple. Peace is represented by the purple. We were created to be in peace, but through sin, the whole and perfect light of Yehovah in us is broken up, refracted, the way we see it in the rainbow. Day 1 is the colour red. Red is for the flesh, a picture of the fire of survival, day 2 is represented by orange, the heat of anger, fear, shame, and blame comes to the surface on this second day. By day 3, the heat hascooled off some, yellow is represented as we begin to surrender and cease striving and begin to accept. The 4th day is a crux, a new beginning, represented by the colour green, new growth, new life revival. Day 5 is represente by blue, the spirit of wisdom, the spirit of living waters moving within us. Day 5 is indigo, a deepening of this spirit in us, a seed of reasoned obedience after the first few days struggling in the flesh of our thoughts. And then finally on the 7th day, the blue of the spirit and th red of the flesh combine to restore the peace we were designed with. The physical and the spirit are bridged together as the soul heals and is transformed through this renewing practice of taking captive every though. There are other patterns of 7 we follow. We look at the 7 days of creation, what Yehovah was at work doing in those days, and how that is at work in our minds and thoughts. Another layer of 7s is the feast of Yehovah, this pattern shows us the journey the relationship between Yehovah and His bride are on, and how that is at play in the mind. There’s the pattern of 7 spirits of wisdom from James 3:17 17 But the wisdom from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, open to reason, full of mercy and good fruits, impartial and sincere. Have you ever heard of Neil Andersen’s 7 steps to freedom? Simi has this woven into this program too, learning to see ourselves through what Yeshua has said about us. What about Musar? Are you familiar with the Jewish discipline of Musar? It’s about moulding moral character within yourself. We must discipline our flesh to come under the measuring rod of Yehovah. So using these 7 different sets of patterns, we use these to direct our thoughts regarding this toxic thought that we are trying to dissolve and replace with a righteous thought. Then after taking the time to sit with your reflections, you then journal your reflections. The act of writing things down helps us to sort through why we think something and truly process it. It also gives you a record of the journey you’ve walked as you heal from the trauma of life. This healing of the soul puts an end to this division of body and soul and restores us to the complete wholeness we were designed with to be not just a physical being, but a spirit being as well. This morning we were talking about the cornerstone, how when a building goes up, the builders carefully set the cornerstone so that two walls are build outward from that stone. If that stone is set on a sandy shifting soil, a faulty foundation, it means that cornerstone will move and the walls will crumble. In this same way, we need to build the physical and the spiritual frameworks of our lives so that they are firmly affixed to the cornerstone, Yeshua being that cornerstone. When we build up our spirit, soul and flesh on this foundation, all three work together for soundness, completeness, wholeness and peace. We build that intimacy as we grow in likeness to Yehovah’s image. This intimacies the oil we need for that day that our Bridegroom comes for His Pure Spotless Bride.   18. 66#75 Yeshua Was Always There | Podcast with Kay BeardIt is truly amazing how God takes us and molds us into His image through various trials.  Kay Beards testimony is nothing short of that, and I sincerely enjoyed our conversation and I hope you do too! Kay begins by grounding her testimony in Ezekiel 34:24–30, emphasizing the New Covenant promise where God writes His Torah on the hearts and minds of Israel and causes His people to walk in His ways. She was raised Southern Baptist from birth, deeply involved in church life and programs throughout her childhood. As a young girl, she participated in Girls Auxiliary (GA’s), a structured discipleship and missions program focused on scripture memorization, evangelism, and spiritual discipline. The GA program included multi-year progression, scripture memorization, examinations, ceremonies, and symbolic rewards, culminating in a formal coronation as “queen.” Though she didn’t fully appreciate it at the time, the intense scripture memorization left a lasting imprint and still informs her biblical knowledge and apologetics today. Looking back, she recognizes that God was working in her life early, even when she was unaware of it. Like many, she went through rebellious teenage years, made mistakes, and later returned to God as an adult. After marrying and having children, she felt a strong conviction to teach her children God’s Word, but struggled because she realized she didn’t fully understand Scripture herself. This led her to homeschool her children, during which she was introduced to Messianic teaching through other homeschoolers. She learned about a Messianic ministry led by Joe Good, which sparked questions about whether believers were meant to live differently than traditional Christianity taught. Her journey into Torah pursuance began with rejecting Christmas, recognizing it was neither biblical nor the Messiah’s birthday. As she researched further, she encountered the Feast of Tabernacles (Sukkot) and became convinced she needed to observe it. Despite resistance from her husband—who initially thought she had “lost her mind”—she became determined to obey what she was learning. While still attending a Baptist church and leading Bible studies, she invited people from multiple denominations to celebrate biblical feasts with her.   19. 67#74 Is Israel, really Israel!? Are The Jews Really The Jews!?Is Israel really Israel and are the Jews really the Jews? I think that question alone is very loaded and a lot of study of history is needed to even in an elementary way, Provide the answer to that question. Now this question is coming up a lot, especially among Christian believers who are for one reason or another, have taken it upon themselves to want to disband the narrative that Israel is a legitimate country or that the bloodline of the Jews, as we know them today are completely an utterly illegitimate people and have no links and ties to the biblical Hebrew people. So, first of all, I don’t want there to be any guise, entering in to this discussion, that I am persuaded, that all arguments that suggest that Israel is not Israel, and that the Jews are not the Jews; Those claims are unfounded and completely and utterly false. It’s nothing but a strategy from the enemy to take our eyes off of what is important in our spiritual walk with Christ and some people say “well the Jews are sinners!”. “These are sinful people” “how can they still be God‘s chosen people” and my answer to that, would be rather my response to that, would be, they are God‘s chosen people in as much as the same way we as Christians consider ourselves to be God‘s chosen people.  So it’s about the covenant. It’s about the promise.   Because God made a covenant with Israel!  So what benefit do Christians have exactly in de-legitimizing the nation of Israel if it’s none other than to just simply be hateful.  Because here’s the thing, according to the scriptures, in the  New Testament scriptures, we are not replacing Israel, but rather brought into Israel by faith!  Those that believe in Christ, we are brought into Israel by faith, we’re not replacing Israel by Faith that’s a ridiculous concept which is completely unbiblical on every account!  Roman’s here gives us the answers from the New Testament. We don’t have to go to the prophets to get this answer; The Remnant of Israel Rom 11:1  I say then, Did not God put away His people? Let it not be said! For I also am an Israelite, of the seed of Abraham, of the tribe of Benjamin. Rom 11:2  God did not thrust out His people whom He foreknew. Or do you not know what the Scripture said in Elijah, how he pleaded with God against Israel, saying, Rom 11:3  “Lord, they killed Your prophets and dug down Your altars, and I am left alone, and they seek my life.” Rom 11:4  But what does the Divine answer say to him? “I have reserved to Myself seven thousand men who have not bowed the knee to Baal.” Rom 11:5  Even so then, also in this present time a remnant according to the election of grace has come into being. Rom 11:6  But if by grace, then it is no more of works; otherwise grace is no more grace. But if it is of works, then it is no more of grace; otherwise work is no more work. Rom 11:7  What then? Israel has not obtained that which it seeks, but the election obtained it, and the rest were hardened Rom 11:8  even as it is written, “God gave to them a spirit of slumber, eyes not seeing, and ears not hearing” until this day. Rom 11:9  And David said, “Let their table become for a snare and a trap and a stumbling block and a recompense to them. Rom 11:10  Let their eyes be darkened so that they may not see, and their back always bowing.” Gentiles Grafted In Rom 11:11  I say then, Did they not stumble that they fall? Let it not be! But by their slipping away came salvation to the nations, to provoke them to jealousy. Rom 11:12  But if their slipping away is the riches of the world, and their default is the riches of thenations, how much more their fullness? Rom 11:13  For I speak to you, the nations; since I am the apostle of the nations, I glorify my ministry; Rom 11:14  if by any means I may provoke those who are my flesh to jealousy, and might save some of them. Rom 11:15  For if their casting away is thereconciling of the world, what is the reception except life from the dead? Rom 11:16  For if the firstfruit is holy, the lump isalso holy; and if the root is holy, also the branches. Rom 11:17  And if some of the branches were broken off, and you, being a wild olive tree, were grafted in among them, and became a sharer of the root and the fatness of the olive tree with them, Rom 11:18  do not boast against the branches. But if you boast, it is not you that bears the root, but the root bears you. Rom 11:19  You will say then, The branches were broken off so that I might be grafted in. Rom 11:20  Well, because of unbelief they were broken off, and you stand by faith. Do not behigh-minded, but fear. Rom 11:21  For if God did not spare the natural branches, fear lest He also may not spare you either! Rom 11:22  Behold then the kindness, and theseverity of God; on those having fallen, severity; but on you, kindness, if you continue in the kindness. Otherwise you also will be cut off. Rom 11:23  And those also, if they do not continue in unbelief, will be grafted in. For God is able to graft them in again. Rom 11:24  For if you were cut out of the natural wild olive tree, and were grafted contrary to nature into a good olive tree; how much more these being according to nature will be grafted into their own olive-tree? so he’s painting a picture that the root is Israel right? This is where we came from. This is this is where Faith was sprung up from right out of the seed of Abraham the root also the branches, and if some of the branches were broken off and you being a wild olive tree or grafted in among them (as Israel)  you were a gentile, but God grafted you in among the root, which is Israel, and became a sharer of the root and the fatness of the olive tree with them do not boast against the branches, but if you boast, it is not you that bears the root, but the root bears you.  The root is Israel you’re the branches you can’t boast against it. It’s holding you up, but the root bears you, you don’t bear the root, you will say then the branches were broken off so that I might be grafted in, well because of unbelief. They were broken off and you stand by Faith, do not be high minded, but fear, for if God did not spare the natural branches fear.  lest, he also may not spare you either.  Behold in the kindness and the severity of God on those having fallen fallen away severity, but on you, kindness, if you continue in the kindness, otherwise you also will be cut off. So there’s no such thing as once save always saved here folks.  You are grafted in to Israel by a covenant that God established with Israel  long ago before any of us were born, he gave the promise to Abraham. He realized it through Moses, and that was passed on down to our current day. He made a covenant with the nations by Yeshua, Messiah, Jesus Christ, and by that covenant we are brought into Israel, so we can’t boast against Israel if we belong to Israel.  If you’re a true believer, now if you’re not a believer, then you belong to other nations then so be it, but you can choose to join a nation. You can choose to Join God in his salvation and if you are choosing God‘s salvation, then you’re a part of Israel, you’re no longer an alien.  This is very plain in the scriptures Ephesians chapter 2 verse 12 at that time you were without Christ being aliens from the Commonwealth of Israel and strangers from the covenant of promise having no hope, and without God in the world.   So here is a very plain explicit statement from Paul that through Christ by faith you have been brought into Israel no longer a stranger, an alien, a gentile.  You have become an Israelite. Here’s another great scripture Hebrews chapter 8 verse 10 for this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days. Says The Lord, I will put my laws into their mind and write them into their hearts, and I will be to them a God and they shall be to me a people. Now, this is Paul quoting Jeremiah, so and it is universally believed by all of those that believe that Jesus is the Messiah, that Yeshua is the Messiah, is universally believed that Hebrews chapter 8 verse 10 is referring to people that are brought in to salvation by Jesus and that his laws the laws of God are written on our hearts, so if we believe that, then it’s just as what the scripture says; that this covenant was not made with Gentiles, this covenant was made with the house of Israel.  So if you are subscribing to that belief of Christ that he died and rose again and forgave your sins and pardoned your iniquities, then you’ve been brought into this covenant with the house of Israel. So you’re not this extension of Israel or alien to Israel. Because if you’re not a part of Israel, then you’re not a part of the covenant of Christ and the scriptures have made that very plain and the modern day church have taken an attitude that is reminiscent of a pride against Israel rather than a being thankful for having been brought into a covenant wth God.  Israel were the originators of our faith, for the Bible also tells us that Abraham being the father of faith, so again, if we’re to believe that, then we have skin in the game with Israel.  We are not to be their enemies, but rather we are being called by God to look at them as Brethren.47 min

Exposing the Roots of the Catholic TrinityHere’s the thing.  No one, and I mean, no one believed that Yehovah was more than one at any time up until the Nicene Creed time period.  The trinity doctrine comes from syncretism with babylonian mystery religion which was introduced by Simon Magus. The Simon Magus doctrine is what eventually morphs into Gnosticism and eventually Catholicism.  So without addressing any scriptures, we already have a solid foundation for an understanding of what not to believe; by that I am referring to the confusion of the trinity.  Yehovah also explains it to us in His name.  Yeshua means Yehovah Saves.  No one else saved but HIM.  Why?  because Yehovah stepped out of heaven and became flesh.  John so eloquently puts it, The Word was both with God and was God.  There aren’t two beings here, God is still One.  Yeshua said, have you been with me so long that you don’t know that if you’ve seen me, you’ve seen the Father also? In Revelations 1:8 we have Jesus saying, I am the Alpha and Omega, Beginning and end.  Which is the biblical definition of the name Yehovah. Rev 1:8  I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty. I can go on and on but it’s the simple answer that is usually the answer.  My first premise of discarding the trinity is on the basis that I’m not Catholic and the trinity doctrine is mystery religion doctrine.  So, that’s first.  Second, how is it that no one believed that God is more than one until the NT is written.  It’s like all of the sudden when you turn from Malachi to Matthew God has now split Himself into three “persons” and adopted a “merciful” mindset? Malachi 3:6 says that I am Yehovah and I change not.  That’s a very important thing to understand as one turns the page to delve into the NT scriptures,  But the disciples weren’t confused by this at all, as they understood the Torah and believed that Yehovah is Yeshua.  But after they died the non-Torah keepers who were being indoctrinated by the Simon Magus Mystery cult left a vacuum in the religious world and that eventually became Christianity as we know it. What should shock everyone, is the  fact that we are 2000+ years after the death of Yeshua and people who do not claim to be Catholic are still subscribing to their Nicene doctrines. Isa 45:15  Verily thou art a God that hidest thyself, O God of Israel, the Saviour. Isa 45:16  They shall be ashamed, and also confounded, all of them: they shall go to confusion together that are makers of idols. Isa 45:17  But Israel shall be saved in the LORD with an everlasting salvation: ye shall not be ashamed nor confounded world without end. Isa 45:18  For thus saith the LORD that created the heavens; God himself that formed the earth and made it; he hath established it, he created it not in vain, he formed it to be inhabited: I am the LORD; and there is none else. He is all there IS and there is none else…  Explicit. I’ll leave you with this one. Isa 43:10  Ye are my witnesses, saith the LORD, and my servant whom I have chosen: that ye may know and believe me, and understand that I am he: before me there was no God formed, neither shall there be after me.   21. 69#72 The Son of the Concubine Has No InheritanceArticle written by Sombra Wilson   Moses begins to write Deuteronomy, and by the end of it, Moses has died and the Children of Israel need to continue on into the Promised Land without Him.The Greek word Deuteronomy means Second Law or a repetition of the law. In Hebrew this book is called Devarim, which means “Words”. These are the final words of Moses, the final speeches he makes to Israel that they may keep the commandments of Yehovah. Last week we mentioned inheritance, and how the children of the concubine do not get an inheritance, how a woman without a covenant has no protection or provision in the case of the man’s death or if he leaves her. In Deuteronomy 1, the children of Israel are being offered their inheritance following their receiving the covenant at Mount Sinai. Moses is speaking to the Young Nation of Israel on the East side of the Jordan. They are about to enter and take possession of their inheritance, but Moses reminds them of what happened over the last 40 years and reminds them to trust their Bridegroom and not fear, not fail to keep the covenant. Deuteronomy 1:1-8 The Command to Leave Horeb [1] These are the words that Moses spoke to all Israel beyond the Jordan in the wilderness, in the Arabah opposite Suph, between Paran and Tophel, Laban, Hazeroth, and Dizahab. [2] It is eleven days’ journey from Horeb by the way of Mount Seir to Kadesh-barnea. [3] In the fortieth year, on the first day of the eleventh month, Moses spoke to the people of Israel according to all that the LORD had given him in commandment to them, [4] after he had defeated Sihon the king of the Amorites, who lived in Heshbon, and Og the king of Bashan, who lived in Ashtaroth and in Edrei. [5] Beyond the Jordan, in the land of Moab, Moses undertook to explain this law, saying, [6] “The LORD our God said to us in Horeb, ‘You have stayed long enough at this mountain. [7] Turn and take your journey, and go to the hill country of the Amorites and to all their neighbors in the Arabah, in the hill country and in the lowland and in the Negeb and by the seacoast, the land of the Canaanites, and Lebanon, as far as the great river, the river Euphrates. [8] See, I have set the land before you. Go in and take possession of the land that the LORD swore to your fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, to give to them and to their offspring after them.’All that you see in this map was supposed to be the inheritance for the Nation of Israel, from the where they were in the South near the Red Sea, to the Mediteranean sea on the west all the way to the Euphrates in the east, to the mountains in Lebanon in the north. It should have taken them only 11 days to journey to their inheritance, but because the spies brought back a bad report, and they trusted in the evil report rather than in Yehovah’s word, they were then given a consequence of 40 years in the wilderness for this lack of faith. They would die in the wilderness, but their children would still gain an inheritance. Number 14:20-23 Then the LORD said, “I have pardoned, according to your word. 21 But truly, as I live, and as all the earth shall be filled with the glory of the LORD, 22 none of the men who have seen my glory and my signs that I did in Egypt and in the wilderness, and yet have put me to the test these ten times and have not obeyed my voice, 23 shall see the land that I swore to give to their fathers. And none of those who despised me shall see it. Number 14:28-35 28 Say to them, ‘As I live, declares the LORD, what you have said in my hearing I will do to you: 29 your dead bodies shall fall in this wilderness, and of all your number, listed in the census from twenty years old and upward, who have grumbled against me, 30 not one shall come into the land where I swore that I would make you dwell, except Caleb the son of Jephunneh and Joshua the son of Nun. 31 But your little ones, who you said would become a prey, I will bring in, and they shall know the land that you have rejected. 32 But as for you, your dead bodies shall fall in this wilderness. 33 And your children shall be shepherds in the wilderness forty years and shall suffer for your faithlessness, until the last of your dead bodies lies in the wilderness. 34 According to the number of the days in which you spied out the land, forty days, a year for each day, you shall bear your iniquity forty years, and you shall know my displeasure.’ 35 I, the LORD, have spoken. Surely this will I do to all this wicked congregation who are gathered together against me: in this wilderness they shall come to a full end, and there they shall die.” This inheritance of land symbolizes God’s covenant. He is faithful and gives good gifts, a tangible blessing that will be a home, in perpetuity, enduring provision. It is a home where Yehovah can continue their relationship with His people. It’s a sign of God’s love and promise, but requires obedience for the fulfillment of the covenant; we forfeit this inheritance when we are unfaithful, including the ultimate inheritance which is eternal life with Him. Leviticus 25:23-24 “The land shall not be sold in perpetuity, for the land is mine. For you are strangers and sojourners with me. 24 And in all the country you possess, you shall allow a redemption of the land. We could have inherited all this land from the Mediterranean to the Euphrates, and today we fight to keep the land wedged between the Mediterranean and the Jordan, every day we are threatened with wicked men trying to take our inheritance from us. Let’s keep reading Deuteronomy 1:9-11 [9] “At that time I said to you, ‘I am not able to bear you by myself. [10] The LORD your God has multiplied you, and behold, you are today as numerous as the stars of heaven. [11] May the LORD, the God of your fathers, make you a thousand times as many as you are and bless you, as he has promised you! At the time Moses was to take the Children of Israel into the Promised Land at the end of the 40 years there were approximately 2 -3 Million in the camp of Israel. Moses prays that there would be 1000 times as many. In 2026, there are about 15.7 Million Jews world wide, about half living in the State of Israel. But what of the others – the rest of the tribes of Israel, those who went into the Assyrian exile and never came back? They have scattered around the world, and there’s no real way to count them. But Christians are part of Greater Israel, and there are an estimated 2.6 Billion Christians. I would say Yehovah has answered Moses prayer. Deuteronomy 1:12-18[12] How can I bear by myself the weight and burden of you and your strife? [13] Choose for your tribes wise, understanding, and experienced men, and I will appoint them as your heads.’ [14] And you answered me, ‘The thing that you have spoken is good for us to do.’ [15] So I took the heads of your tribes, wise and experienced men, and set them as heads over you, commanders of thousands, commanders of hundreds, commanders of fifties, commanders of tens, and officers, throughout your tribes. [16] And I charged your judges at that time, ‘Hear the cases between your brothers, and judge righteously between a man and his brother or the alien who is with him. [17] You shall not be partial in judgment. You shall hear the small and the great alike. You shall not be intimidated by anyone, for the judgment is God’s. And the case that is too hard for you, you shall bring to me, and I will hear it.’ [18] And I commanded you at that time all the things that you should do. I have recently been in the situation that I have had trouble with a brother. I have not been able to bear the trouble myself. I could not defend myself from the assault and instead of going to God with my troubles I began to comfort myself with food. This is the sin of gluttony. The food is not the sin, the eating is not the sin, rather, the comforting myself with food rather than comforting myself by seeking Yehovah to be my defender, my protector, my comforter; that was the sin. Moses is telling of how he could not bear the weigh of all the troubles between the brethren, and Jethro, his Father in Law, advised him to set up judges to over see courts beneath him to support him. There are definitely times we need others to help us resolve our troubles, advisors, intermediaries, judges. But the best and first solution should always be to seek Yehovah’s face regarding the troubles you are in, for Yehovah is never overburdened like Moses was with our troubles. Rather, He longs for us to run to Him, especially for the little troubles, for if we did that with the little things, there would be far fewer big things that we would need to stand before a human Judge for. Because of the corruption in the world we live in, we fear the courts. The courts are supposed to be there to protect us, to discern right from wrong, to restore justice and order. But corruption in our world has made everyone feel the victim, feel oppressed and feel there is no trust for the system. Both the plaintif and the defendant feel they are the victim and feel victimized by the courts. This is why we fear to come before Yehovah – we feel we are the victim and rarely want to face that we are guilty of sin, even the smallest sin. Scripture gives us a pattern that we are to come before Yehovah and bring our sacrifices twice daily – whether it be sacrifices in the temple, or the sacrifice of prayer. If we were in the habit of doing this, with true humility, with the soul searching done to recognize our responsibility in a trouble with another – with reverence asking forgiveness, and doing the work to change what ever it is that caused us to do this part in the trouble with our brother, then we would have a much more peaceful society and the troubles would be resolved without needing the courts. 2 Peter 1:2-15 2 May grace and peace be multiplied to you in the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord. 3 His divine power has granted to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of him who called us to[c] his own glory and excellence,[d] 4 by which he has granted to us his precious and very great promises, so that through them you may become partakers of the divine nature, having escaped from the corruption that is in the world because of sinful desire. 5 For this very reason, make every effort to supplement your faith with virtue,[e] and virtue with knowledge, 6 and knowledge with self-control, and self-control with steadfastness, and steadfastness with godliness, 7 and godliness with brotherly affection, and brotherly affection with love. 8 For if these qualities[f] are yours and are increasing, they keep you from being ineffective or unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. 9 For whoever lacks these qualities is so nearsighted that he is blind, having forgotten that he was cleansed from his former sins. 10 Therefore, brothers,[g] be all the more diligent to confirm your calling and election, for if you practice these qualities you will never fall. 11 For in this way there will be richly provided for you an entrance into the eternal kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. 12 Therefore I intend always to remind you of these qualities, though you know them and are established in the truth that you have. 13 I think it right, as long as I am in this body,[h] to stir you up by way of reminder, 14 since I know that the putting off of my body will be soon, as our Lord Jesus Christ made clear to me. 15 And I will make every effort so that after my departure you may be able at any time to recall these things. Moses knew he needed to teach the people to come before Yehovah themselves. Every good teacher knows they are trying to work themselves out of a job. My design is not to be your teacher forever, my design is that each of you would grow to have your own deep intimate relationship with the Father so YOU can go out and teach others, that you would outgrow your need for me to teach you every week. Peter also knew that his disciples needed to grow to not need him. We are all human, we all will die, but if the body of believers falls apart when a teacher dies, then the teacher has failed to teach the disciples. Let’s keep reading Deuteronomy 1: 19 -33Israel’s Refusal to Enter the Land [19] “Then we set out from Horeb and went through all that great and terrifying wilderness that you saw, on the way to the hill country of the Amorites, as the LORD our God commanded us. And we came to Kadesh-barnea. [20] And I said to you, ‘You have come to the hill country of the Amorites, which the LORD our God is giving us. [21] See, the LORD your God has set the land before you. Go up, take possession, as the LORD, the God of your fathers, has told you. Do not fear or be dismayed.’ [22] Then all of you came near me and said, ‘Let us send men before us, that they may explore the land for us and bring us word again of the way by which we must go up and the cities into which we shall come.’ [23] The thing seemed good to me, and I took twelve men from you, one man from each tribe. [24] And they turned and went up into the hill country, and came to the Valley of Eshcol and spied it out. [25] And they took in their hands some of the fruit of the land and brought it down to us, and brought us word again and said, ‘It is a good land that the LORD our God is giving us.’ [26] “Yet you would not go up, but rebelled against the command of the LORD your God. [27] And you murmured in your tents and said, ‘Because the LORD hated us he has brought us out of the land of Egypt, to give us into the hand of the Amorites, to destroy us. [28] Where are we going up? Our brothers have made our hearts melt, saying, “The people are greater and taller than we. The cities are great and fortified up to heaven. And besides, we have seen the sons of the Anakim there.”’ [29] Then I said to you, ‘Do not be in dread or afraid of them. [30] The LORD your God who goes before you will himself fight for you, just as he did for you in Egypt before your eyes, [31] and in the wilderness, where you have seen how the LORD your God carried you, as a man carries his son, all the way that you went until you came to this place.’ [32] Yet in spite of this word you did not believe the LORD your God, [33] who went before you in the way to seek you out a place to pitch your tents, in fire by night and in the cloud by day, to show you by what way you should go. Yehovah has given us a direction, instructions on how to get to His Promised Land. Just as Leviticus 23 tells us the feast days, the path the betrothed heavenly couple takes on their journey toward eternity together, and we are to rehearse these steps yearly, Moses too is reviewing and retelling and reminding the Children of Israel about the fatal steps they made along their journey which lead to Yehovah’s wrath. The could have entered the Promised Land at Kadesh Barnea, instead they were sent back to learn some more, to grow in intimacy with Him. Mark 12:3434 And when Jesus saw that he answered wisely, he said to him, “You are not far from the kingdom of God.” And after that no one dared to ask him any more questions. Sometimes we are so close to where we are supposed to be but we slip, we miss the mark. We suffer trials and tribulations, then we need to learn a lesson. The trial are not designed to destroy us, they are designed to teach us, to strengthen us, to learn to use what we have already been taught, but have failed so far to implement. When we read the story in Numbers, it seemed it was Yehovah’s idea to send the spies into the Land, but here in Deuteronomy it says Yehovah gave them permission after they were apprehensive and needed proof the Promised Land was a good place to go. We too sometimes need to put a fleece out before Yehovah to know what we are supposed to. It is OK to ask Him what to do, it is ok to have trepidation, but when you ask for a sign, you need to trust the sign and not doubt. Judges 6:36-40 36 Then Gideon said to God, “If you will save Israel by my hand, as you have said, 37 behold, I am laying a fleece of wool on the threshing floor. If there is dew on the fleece alone, and it is dry on all the ground, then I shall know that you will save Israel by my hand, as you have said.” 38 And it was so. When he rose early next morning and squeezed the fleece, he wrung enough dew from the fleece to fill a bowl with water. 39 Then Gideon said to God, “Let not your anger burn against me; let me speak just once more. Please let me test just once more with the fleece. Please let it be dry on the fleece only, and on all the ground let there be dew. ” 40 And God did so that night; and it was dry on the fleece only, and on all the ground there was dew. Gideon may have had trepidation, but he asked, and asked a second time for a second witness, but in the end, he went. If Gideon had concerns when he was first called to go to Midian, the next part of the story tells us he doesn’t get to go with a mighty army, but must go with just 300 men. You see, it’s not about our weakness. Or rather, it’s not about our strength, we need to go forth in our weakness trusting Yehovah has it all under control. What ever we are facing, going in weakness, trusting in the strength of Yehovah – THIS is the way to victory. If the Children of Israel had trusted in the strength of Yehovah regardless of their own weakness, He would have given them their inheritance despite those giants in the land. Instead they focused on their own weakness and felt they could not conquer these giants in their own strength. And they were right.. They couldn’t. When we look at our own lack, when that is our focus, instead of looking towards what Yehovah has promised us, trusting Him as our faithful Bridegroom – we risk that eternal unity with Him. There is no such thing as “Once Saved Always Saved”. There is a judgement day. There is a door that might be closed on us. Deuteronomy 1: 34-46 The Penalty for Israel’s Rebellion [34] “And the LORD heard your words and was angered, and he swore, [35] ‘Not one of these men of this evil generation shall see the good land that I swore to give to your fathers, [36] except Caleb the son of Jephunneh. He shall see it, and to him and to his children I will give the land on which he has trodden, because he has wholly followed the LORD!’ [37] Even with me the LORD was angry on your account and said, ‘You also shall not go in there. [38] Joshua the son of Nun, who stands before you, he shall enter. Encourage him, for he shall cause Israel to inherit it. [39] And as for your little ones, who you said would become a prey, and your children, who today have no knowledge of good or evil, they shall go in there. And to them I will give it, and they shall possess it. [40] But as for you, turn, and journey into the wilderness in the direction of the Red Sea.’ [41] “Then you answered me, ‘We have sinned against the LORD. We ourselves will go up and fight, just as the LORD our God commanded us.’ And every one of you fastened on his weapons of war and thought it easy to go up into the hill country. [42] And the LORD said to me, ‘Say to them, Do not go up or fight, for I am not in your midst, lest you be defeated before your enemies.’ [43] So I spoke to you, and you would not listen; but you rebelled against the command of the LORD and presumptuously went up into the hill country. [44] Then the Amorites who lived in that hill country came out against you and chased you as bees do and beat you down in Seir as far as Hormah. [45] And you returned and wept before the LORD, but the LORD did not listen to your voice or give ear to you. [46] So you remained at Kadesh many days, the days that you remained there. (ESV) Not even one of these, Moses included would enter this promised land. Let that sink in. Even Moses didn’t have “Once Saved Always Saved” and Moses spoke with Yehovah face to face. I do not say this to scare you. There is no fear in love.1 John 4:18 There is no fear in love, but perfect love casts out fear. Enlighten our eyes in your Torah, attach our hearts to Your commandments, unite our hearts to love and to fear your name. And may we not feel inner shame for all eternity. Because we have trusted in your great and awesome holy Name, may we exult and rejoice in your salvation. But the meek shall inherit the earth; and shall delight themselves in the abundance of That word Meek, that’s the word Anav, and it means humble or afflict.   22. 70#71 Sacred Mistakes- Where Christians and Rabbis Miss the Mark | Wrong on the Same ThingWe’re going to stay right here on this topic, because this episode brings us to the conclusion of our discussion on rabbinic authority—and, honestly, to what may be the most serious implication of everything we’ve covered so far. If someone insists on full submission to rabbinic authority—over the calendar, Sabbath boundaries, Torah interpretation—then we have to ask the unavoidable question: where does this leave Yeshua Himself? What we begin to see is not a minor disagreement, but an unavoidable collision. Over the last few episodes, we’ve talked about the Noahide Laws. We’ve talked about rabbinic authority. We’ve talked about the idea that we must wait for rabbinic approval before observing the calendar or making any changes. But when you follow those assumptions all the way out, you have to ask: what does this actually imply? That’s what we’re going to chase down today. And I want to say this carefully, respectfully, and honestly. Rabbinic authority does not merely disagree with Yeshua. It explicitly rejects Him. Once you see that clearly, the authority question can no longer be avoided or softened. This is not an attack on rabbis as people. But if you submit yourself to rabbinic authority as binding, and you believe in Yeshua, you place yourself on a collision course. There’s no way around that. We can’t soften this message without losing the truth of it. Here’s the tension that’s been turning the wheels for me over the last few episodes:If you submit to rabbinic authority, you must ultimately reject Torah as written.But if you submit to mainstream Christianity, you also reject Torah. So on one side, Torah is rejected in favor of rabbinic authority.On the other side, Torah is rejected in favor of Christian tradition. Either way, Torah loses. That’s an oxymoron—yet most believers have never actually examined it. And here’s another assumption that needs to be challenged. Many believers assume that rabbinic sources are either silent about Yeshua, or that they simply view Him as a misunderstood teacher or a marginal historical figure. That assumption is incorrect. The foundational texts of rabbinic authority do not treat Yeshua as misunderstood. They preserve explicit judgments against Him. These are not obscure footnotes. These are part of the authoritative rabbinic record itself. Today, we’re going to read some of those records directly—starting with the Babylonian Talmud, Sanhedrin 43a—where Yeshua is accused of practicing sorcery. And it’s important to understand: this accusation functions as an outright prohibition against believing in Him as Messiah. Once you see this, the authority question can no longer be ignored.   23. 71#70 is it Biblical or Tradition? | Are we Subject to the Authority of the Rabbis? | Podcast with Joseph Dumond Part 2Welcome to the SightedMoon Podcast.I’m your host, Ryan Nall, and I’m joined again today by Joseph Dumond, author and founder of SightedMoon.com. Joe, it’s great to have you back. In our last episode, we discussed the question of authority—specifically how the biblical calendar was changed from one based on observable, agricultural signs in the land of Israel, such as the ripening of barley and the sighting of the new moon, to the fixed rabbinic calendar used today. We talked about how rabbinic authorities disbanded the original calendar system, usurped the authority of the Sanhedrin, and replaced it with a highly complex calculated calendar. Joe also shared compelling archaeological evidence supporting this historical shift, including his research on the Zoar tombstones. Today, we want to take this discussion further, because the issue of authority doesn’t stop with the calendar. Rabbinic authorities often argue that believers must submit to their authority, appealing to passages in Judges and other scriptures to justify this claim. But if we accept that argument—if we say we must submit to rabbinic authority on how the law is interpreted and practiced—then we need to ask an important question: what else are we agreeing to when we say that? Authority is not something you can selectively submit to. If you accept it, you accept its rulings in full. One of the clearest implications of this authority structure is the claim that there are two separate legal systems: one for Jews by birth, and another for Gentiles. This distinction is expressed through what are commonly known as the Seven Noahide Laws, which are presented as the full extent of Gentile obligation before God. Those laws are: Prohibition of idolatry Prohibition of blasphemy Prohibition of murder Prohibition of sexual immorality Prohibition of theft Prohibition of eating flesh from a living animal The requirement to establish courts of justice According to rabbinic teaching, Gentiles are forbidden from going beyond these laws. That means calendar observance, Sabbath keeping, and biblical festivals are explicitly excluded. In Sanhedrin 58b, the Talmud states that a Gentile who keeps the Sabbath is guilty of a capital offense. The reasoning given is that the Sabbath is a covenantal sign reserved exclusively for Israel, and that a Gentile who observes it is intruding into a covenant that does not belong to them. This raises a serious problem. If someone from another nation desires to serve the God of Israel—if they want to obey His commandments—you would think that would be welcomed. Instead, this system treats that desire as trespassing, as crossing into forbidden territory. What’s even more striking is that there is no biblical passage that supports this position. Maimonides, one of the most respected rabbinic authorities in history, writes in Laws of Kings and Wars, chapter 10, section 9, that Gentiles are not permitted to observe the Sabbath or establish festivals for themselves. He states that Gentiles must restrict themselves to the Seven Noahide Laws and may not innovate religious practices or perform commandments not specifically commanded to them—implying that the Sabbath and festivals are for Jews alone. This means the debate over the calendar is not an abstract theological issue. It has real, concrete implications. If someone says, “You must submit to rabbinic authority regarding the calendar,” then consistency demands that they also accept the rest of that authority—including the ruling that Gentiles must not keep the Sabbath, must not observe the festivals, and must not follow Israel’s calendar. That’s the other side of the coin. What becomes clear is that this system does not function as an entry point into obedience, but as a ceiling. Gentiles are allowed to obey only so far—and no further. They are not permitted to grow into deeper covenantal obedience. So the question becomes unavoidable:When two authorities claim opposite things, which one are you going to follow? That’s where we’ll continue the conversation today.   24. 72#69 Those That Speak with the Authority of Moses? | Podcast with Sombra WilsonArticle Written by Sombra Wilson As I begin to write today, people around the world are celebrating Christmas. A parallel was brought to my attention, that keeping Christmas is similar to the of the Golden Calf incident. The Children of Israel were trying to worship Yehovah, but because they did not have a depth of knowledge, a depth of intimacy with Yehovah, they resorted to what they knew from Egypt on how to worship deity. The Egyptians worshipped their god Hathor with revelry, so they sought to worship Yehovah in the same way. Their intention was pure, they truly wanted to worship Yehovah, who had rescued them from the slavery in Egypt, but now they were at the base of Mount Sinai, and had cut the betrothal covenant with Yehovah, and were at a loss for what to do given their leader, Moses, had gone up the mountain and not returned. They had seen the fire on top the mountain, maybe they thought he had been burned up like a sacrifice. They looked to Aaron to lead them in worship, and Aaron did what they asked. Let’s read the telling of this story. Exodus 32:1-6 When the people saw that Moses delayed to come down from the mountain, the people gathered themselves together to Aaron and said to him, “Up, make us gods who shall go before us. As for this Moses, the man who brought us up out of the land of Egypt, we do not know what has become of him.” 2 So Aaron said to them, “Take off the rings of gold that are in the ears of your wives, your sons, and your daughters, and bring them to me.” 3 So all the people took off the rings of gold that were in their ears and brought them to Aaron. 4 And he received the gold from their hand and fashioned it with a graving tool and made a golden[a] calf. And they said, “These are your gods, O Israel, who brought you up out of the land of Egypt!” 5 When Aaron saw this, he built an altar before it. And Aaron made a proclamation and said, “Tomorrow shall be a feast to the LORD. ” 6 And they rose up early the next day and offered burnt offerings and brought peace offerings. And the people sat down to eat and drink and rose up to play. Though they had been chosen, hopped over; though they had passed through the Red Sea, seen their enemies die, their past slavery was dead, and they had been lifted up like firstfruit on the other side of the Red Sea, as if resurrected to a new life of freedom; they still had bitterness and needed to learn to apply the Tree of Life, the Torah to their lives that they may produce good fruit. And even so, here at Mount Sinai, they’ve been betrothed to Yehovah, and they still do not understand the relationship and to whom they have been betrothed. This makes me think of Jacob, when he was to marry Rachel, and found himself tricked on his wedding day. Please read Genesis 29:15-26 15 Then Laban said to Jacob, “Because you are my kinsman, should you therefore serve me for nothing? Tell me, what shall your wages be?” 16 Now Laban had two daughters. The name of the older was Leah, and the name of the younger was Rachel. 17 Leah’seyes were weak,[a] but Rachel was beautiful in form and appearance. 18 Jacob loved Rachel. And he said, “I will serve you seven years for your younger daughter Rachel.” 19 Laban said, “It is better that I give her to you than that I should give her to any other man; stay with me.” 20 So Jacob served seven years for Rachel, and they seemed to him but a few days because of the love he had for her. 21 Then Jacob said to Laban, “Give me my wife that I may go in to her, for my time is completed.” 22 So Laban gathered together all the people of the place and made a feast. 23 But in the evening he took his daughter Leah and brought her to Jacob, and he went in to her. 24 (Laban gave[b] his female servant Zilpah to his daughter Leah to be her servant.) 25 And in the morning, behold, it was Leah! And Jacob said to Laban, “What is this you have done to me? Did I not serve with you for Rachel? Why then have you deceived me?” 26 Laban said, “It is not so done in our country, to give the younger before the firstborn. We too, as a Christian society, have been tricked into being betrothed to a different Bridegroom. If we don’t know Who Yeshua truly is, we are deceived into being the bride of another Christ. We have allowed the influences of the world to tell us who our Betrothed is, and we have seen and understood Him through a veil of deceit. Ask yourself, are you betrothed to the Hebrew Yeshua, who is defined by the Torah, Identified through it and came to fulfill it? Or are you betrothed to the Greek Jesus, of whom we are told, did away with the law, and died so we have no need to be under the law, no need for that Sabbath and those feast days, for He made all things new, even His day of rest changed to Sunday. What kind of deceit have we been deceived with? Matthew 23:1-7 Then Jesus said to the crowds and to his disciples, 2 “The scribes and the Pharisees sit on Moses’ seat, 3 so do and observe whatever they tell you, but not the works they do. For they preach, but do not practice. 4 They tie up heavy burdens, hard to bear,[a] and lay them on people’s shoulders, but they themselves are not willing to move them with their finger. 5 They do all their deeds to be seen by others. For they make their phylacteries broad and their fringes long, 6 and they love the place of honor at feasts and the best seats in the synagogues 7 and greetings in the marketplaces and being called rabbi by others. Yeshua tells us to do and observe that which the Pharisees tell us. But do the Pharisees always tell us the right thing to do? Yeshua tells us they have authority, yet he alsorebukes them in Matthew 15:13-14 13 “But woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you shut the kingdom of heaven in people’s faces. For you neither enter yourselves nor allow those who would enter to go in.  15 Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you travel across sea and land to make a single proselyte, and when he becomes a proselyte, you make him twice as much a child of hell as yourselves. We could have read a dozen more verses showing us Yeshua rebuking the Pharisees, so why has He also told us to obey them? What is this Moses Seat? This is the type of seat that the leader of the Synagogue sits in on Shabbat. So is it the seat that makes us supposed to obey them? Or maybe it’s what is proclaimed from this seat! The Pharisees would read the Torah from this seat. This is what we are to do and observe! Matthew 15:1-9 Says 15 Then Pharisees and scribes came to Jesus from Jerusalem and said, 2 “Why do your disciples break the tradition of the elders? For they do not wash their hands when they eat.” 3 He answered them, “And why do you break the commandment of God for the sake of your tradition? 4 For God commanded, ‘Honor your father and your mother, ’ and, ‘Whoever reviles father or mother must surely die.’ 5But you say, ‘If anyone tells his father or his mother, “What you would have gained from me is given to God,” 6 he need not honor his father. ’ So for the sake of your tradition you have made void the word of God. 7 You hypocrites! Well did Isaiah prophesy of you, when he said: 8 “‘This people honors me with their lips, but their heart is far from me; 9 in vain do they worship me, teaching as doctrines the commandments of men.’” Now I have seen the Kenyan people wash their hands, there is a strong custom in your land of washing hands, and it’s a good custom. But is it a commandment? If one fails to wash their hands, is it sin? According to the Pharisees, even the handwashing that is done in the restaurants and public washrooms is not according to the teachings of these Pharisees, these rabbis; according to them, it’s still sin. They teach that when you wash your hand, you take a jug of water and pour water over the left hand first, then the right hand, then the left hand then the right hand and then a third time. But even that is not sufficient. The addition of soap renders the ceremonial washing of the hands also not right. The thing that makes the pouring of the water over the hands three times righteous is the saying of the blessing. Blessed are You, Yehovah our God, King of the Universe who sanctifies us with the commandments and commanded us regarding the washing of hands. The complaint made in the verses of Matthew 15 by the Pharisees is that the disciples did not perform this ceremonial washing of the hands before they ate. They have made their tradition equal to, or greater than the commandments found in the Torah. This commandment that is mentioned in this blessing – this claim that we are commanded to wash our hands – there is no such commandment. It doesn’t exist. It’s not in the Torah. It is a good custom, but it is not sin to not wash the hands and say the blessing before eating. It is good health to wash the hands, it is good etquette to wash the hands, but it is not sin to wash with soap or not say the blessing. We can not make man’s traditions, man’s ways equal to God’s Commandments. Yehovah alone defines sin. The word Pharisee comes from the word Prushim; to separate, literally to disperse to wound: – scatter, declare, distinctly, shew, sting. And these Prushim are the direct descendants of the Orthodox Rabbis who hold as truths that: 1. There are 2 Torahs – the Written Torah and the Oral Torah, This oral Torah is now written down as the Mishnah, the Talmud and the Midrash.2. The Rabbis have absolute authority – even if they say the right is left and the left is right – I must obey them. 3. Midrashic Interpretation: Ignores Language and Ignores Context. They say that Scripture is a divine code and only the Rabbis have the ability to interpret the divine code. They took words out of the context of scripture and gave them divine meaning. 4. They have Authority to Sanctify custom: Clothing, Holidays, headcovering, they can determine what and how these customs are applied. 5. Commandments of the Rabbis – tradition or rabbinical enactment. – the Ceremonial Washing of the hands is an example of this. Is Yeshua agreeing with these principles of Pharisaism in Matthew 15? Let’s look at Exodus 23:1-3 “You shall not spread a false report. You shall not join hands with a wicked man to be a malicious witness. 2 You shall not fall in with the many to do evil, nor shall you bear witness in a lawsuit, siding with the many, so as to pervert justice, 3 nor shall you be partial to a poor man in his lawsuit. From this commandment we see we CAN NOT just go with what the majority or the wicked man says, we MUST NOT be swayed by the cultural norms. Rather we MUST proclaim the truth, even if we are the only ones declaring this truth. The third principle of these Pharisees says we can truncated this message from You shall not fall in with the many to do evil, to fall in with the many Can you see how this completely perverts the meaning of this instruction? Now it’s not fair to just finger point at the Jewish Rabbis and say they are the only ones doing this. We clearly see Christian Pastors doing this as well. Matthew 12:8 8 For the Son of Man is lord of the Sabbath.” Mark 2:28 28 So the Son of Man is lord even of the Sabbath.” If Yeshua is Lord EVEN of the Sabbath, then why have our forefathers – the Church Elders, the Pope, the Protestant Ministers – why do they claim that Sunday is now the day of rest? By their own testimony, Christians themselves don’t do what Yeshua said. These forefathers have usurped Yeshua’s Authority over the Sabbath.We can extrapolate that, those who keep Sunday, the very individual who has read the scriptures, seen what it said, but chosen to do differently, even those individuals have usurped Yeshua’s authority. Matthew 16:6 Jesus said to them, “Watch and beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and Sadducees.” Let’s read that whole section Matthew 16:5-12 5 When the disciples reached the other side, they had forgotten to bring any bread. 6 Jesus said to them, “Watch and beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and Sadducees.” 7 And they began discussing it among themselves, saying, “We brought no bread.” 8 But Jesus, aware of this, said, “O you of little faith, why are you discussing among yourselves the fact that you have no bread? 9 Do you not yet perceive? Do you not remember the five loaves for the five thousand, and how many baskets you gathered? 10 Or the seven loaves for the four thousand, and how many baskets you gathered? 11 How is it that you fail to understand that I did not speak about bread? Beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and Sadducees.” 12 Then they understood that he did not tell them to beware of the leaven of bread, but of the teaching of the Pharisees and Sadducees. While you may not think you are following the Rabbis, for they teach the Jews not Christians, why is it that the Forefathers of the Christian Faith still seem to hold the same principles as the Pharisees? Pastors, Priest, Ministers all seem to say that the scriptures can’t be interpreted, can’t be understood unless you have been to Theological Seminary, unless you have been ordained – some groups even DISCOURAGE the lay man from reading the Bible. True, some do not have strong reading skills, so as Yeshua said, go – hear the Word of God spoken from the Moses Seat. How much scripture is even read in church these days? If a pastor chooses one scripture verse to expound on, how are we to hear – or read – the whole Word of God? Deut 31:9-13 9 Then Moses wrote this law and gave it to the priests, the sons of Levi, who carried the ark of the covenant of the LORD, and to all the elders of Israel. 10 And Moses commanded them, “At the end of every seven years, at the set time in the year ofrelease, at the Feast of Booths, 11 when all Israel comes to appear before the LORD your God at the place that he will choose, you shall read this law before all Israel in their hearing. 12 Assemble the people, men, women, and little ones, and the sojourner within your towns, that they may hear and learn to fear the LORD your God, and be careful to do all the words of this law, 13 and that their children, who have not known it, may hear and learn to fear the LORD your God, as long as you live in the land that you are going over the Jordan to possess.” This is what Yeshua meant by telling us to do and observe that which the Pharisees teach from the seat of Moses – that they are to hear the Torah. If you do not have a copy of the Bible, as most Israelites did not in Yeshua’s day, nor in Moses day – and still many Kenyan’s do not have a copy of the Bible even today. The Word of God must be READ Aloud so that the people can hear it and understand it and interpret it for themselves, without the Rabbis, or Pastors spoon feeding them what they are supposed to understand from it. This is why I find it important to give you so much scripture to read to support my teachings each week, and why I want YOU to be doing the reading, so you can hear it in your own language, straight from the Word of God. This is why Pastor Philemon has you using a highlighter to highlight key phrases. Deut 17:13-20 14 “When you come to the land that the LORD your God is giving you, and you possess it and dwell in it and then say, ‘I will set a king over me, like all the nations that are around me,’ 15 you may indeed set a king over you whom the LORD your God will choose. One from among your brothers you shall set as king over you. You may not put a foreigner over you, who is not your brother. 16 Only he must not acquire many horses for himself or cause the people to return to Egypt in order to acquire many horses, since the LORD has said to you, ‘You shall never return that way again.’ 17 And he shall not acquire many wives for himself, lest his heart turn away, nor shall he acquire for himself excessive silver and gold. 18 “And when he sits on the throne of his kingdom, he shall write for himself in a book a copy of this law, approved by[c] the Levitical priests. 19 And it shall be with him, and he shall read in it all the days of his life, that he may learn to fear the LORD his God by keeping all the words of this law and these statutes, and doing them, 20 that his heart may not be lifted up above his brothers, and that he may not turn aside from the commandment, either to the right hand or to the left, so that he may continue long in his kingdom, he and his children, in Israel. I have been writing out for myself the New Testament for the last few years. I have not been consistent, but I have written all of Matthew and I’m now in Mark 10. I have a friend who did write out the whole Torah. We are commanded to do this. – well, kingswere commanded to do this so that they could rule and reign from a place of righteousness, and could have their own copy of the torah to reference. We are to be Prophets, Priests and Kings – and so we too are to have a copy of the scriptures to reference. If you don’t have a purchased copy of the scriptures, is writing out a copy a practice you can put into place? – there is great wisdom in doing this, even if you have your own purchased copy. As you write out the words in your own handwriting, into your own notebook, you pay attention to the words Yehovah is speaking to us in His Word. You dwell on words and ponder them, you ask yourself questions and then ask Yehovah for answers. In today’s modern age, you all have phones to do your business through M-Pesa. Use this tool in your hands for more than talking to friends and buying and selling. Use it to read the Word of Yehovah. Download a copy of the Bible in your Mother tongue and write it out for yourself. Invest in your relationship with Yehovah and stop letting someone else tell you what you are supposed to do with your relationship with your Beloved BrideGroom. Grow in Wisdom. Know the Truth for yourself that you will not fall into the trap of following the leaven of the Pharisees. Know the Word of God so you do not fall to worshipping a golden calf, or fall into apostasy. Matthew 24:24 For false christs and false prophets will arise and perform great signs and wonders, so as to lead astray, if possible, even the elect. This false Christ, this Apollyon, the AntiChrist is at the doorstep. 2300 days from when W.H.O. shut down the world and put an end to sacrifices and offerings in 2020 brings us to July 12, 2026. What exactly this will look like we do not yet know, but we must keep our eyes open and pay attention to the times and seasons we are in. This is the next thing that these Sabbatical and Jubilee Charts are pointing to. Get the leaven out, and do it now. Get serious about what you believe – about whom has authority over you, and choose to submit to this authority.
