In this message we look at one of the objections that is raised out of the book of Matthew, and see how not only is it consistent with all of God's Word, but that it is a promise that Jesus would come to be our perfect King. - 386The Family of Jesus' BirthThe entire Bible is about Christ. We see in God’s Word that everything from the Old to New Testament tells of Christ. In the New Testament Jesus is the sinless Lamb slain for our sins, and in the Old Testament he is the coming King foretold by the prophets. In the first session of the new series “Fulfilled,” we learn how Jesus fulfilled the lineage that was required of this King who was to come. What does that mean for you and me? Jesus is God’s only promise of salvation, forgiveness, and eternal life. Has he fulfilled those promises in your life? Are you saved?
- 387Drifting AllegianceSometimes life is hard, and our Christian walk is tough. In those times instead of drawing close to God, we often drift away. In fear or shame, we find a way to excuse our actions. Luckily we have a loving Savior who seeks us out and restores us. Christ came to Peter because he had drifted away. Have you drifted away? Have you lost your zeal for the things of God? Have you lost your first love? Have you ever received God’s love in your heart? Are you saved?
- 388Doubtful FaithMost of the time we think of the perfect Christian as a person without any doubt. We think that in order to be truly saved we must not doubt at all. That is simply not true. Christians can and do have doubts. Even when we doubt we are called to trust God and put our faith in Him. Do you have trouble believing that someone who died 2000 years ago on a cross has the power to change your life today? Get ready! God is about to open your eyes to the truth. Christian – do you struggle with doubts? I do. Let the Holy Spirit through God’s Word teach you to walk by faith and not by sight.
- 389Fearless LoveHow should we love Christ? Christ deserves an obedient and all-consuming love. When we look at some of the prominent New Testament figures such as Mary Magdalene, Peter, and John the Beloved Disciple, we see how to love Jesus and some of the things that hinder our love for Him. Mary Magdalene ran. Peter ran. The other disciple ran. Just like little kids, they didn’t care what anyone thought of them. They ran because their loved one was missing. Would you have done that? Have you received His love in your life? Are you saved?
- 390Senseless ObedienceIt is hard to obey God when we don't understand the reason behind our obedience. Even when it is hard, we are still called to obey Christ. One thing we can trust is that He will work all things together for good to those who love Him. When we keep that in mind are free to obey Christ no matter how unreasonable it seems. The disciples obeyed Jesus even when it didn’t make any sense. Are you obedient to God even when it doesn’t make any sense? How do you obey him? Quickly, completely, joyfully? Are you saved? Obey the voice of the Holy Spirit and be saved.
- 391Training: Part TwoLast week we learned about raising our kids in The Way and how important that is. There are many passages in scripture instructing us on training our kids. One of the most important parts of training kids is the trainer themselves. The trainer must love the Word of God and cherish it. You cannot hate God’s word and disobey it and tell your kids to love God’s Word and obey it in their lives. They will do what you do. Do you love and obey God’s word? Have you received the Word of God, Jesus, as your Savior? Are you saved?
- 392Miracles HappenThis is the first of our new series on miracles, called Miraculous. In this sermon, we learn about the different arguments made against the Biblical miracles, and why we can trust that they are actually true. Do you believe that miracles happen? People doubted Jesus, even John the Baptist. I believe that some of the biggest agnostics and unbelievers are not out there but in here. Tough times of life and unanswered prayers have made some of us “believing skeptics.” Do you truly believe in miracles? Are you saved? The greatest miracle is a changed life.
- 393Trash TalkTalking trash is common for people today. It can be talking trash to a friend jokingly, or to an enemy to belittle and tear down. Far too often, Christians trash talk God. We have grown too familiar and think of God as a friend we can talk to any way we please. While God is our friend, He is also the sovereign King of the universe, and we need to learn to speak to Him as such. The way you talk to and about God shows what you truly believe. What do you say about God? Do you trash talk his name? Do you fear him? Do people hear you talking about God or do they hear you talking about others? Do you trash talk others or do you edify others? Are you saved?
- 394Pious ThievesIn our society thieves are looked down upon. We live by the principle that if we earn it, it belongs to us, and no one should be able to take it away. We believe thieves should be imprisoned, but we don't often realize that we too are thieves. Everyday people are robbing God. He lavishly blesses us, and out of obedience we should give a portion back; yet we are so greedy we want to keep what is rightfully His. What has God done for you? How much do you have that belongs to God? Are you saved?
- 395Refining FireFire is a fascinating element, but also a dangerous one. In the Christian world, fire is associated with judgment and trials, and because of this sometimes we give fire a bad reputation. In this message we learn how Jesus puts us through "fire" in order to make us more like him. He uses fire to refine us so that we will be acceptable to the Father. Are you in God’s refining fire? Are you going through a tough time physically, mentally, financially, relationally, spiritually? Could it be that God is using that fire to refine you, to purify you? Are you saved?
- 396Rotten BlessingsToday's world tries so hard to take God out of everything, and unfortunately it is happening in the lives of believers as well. God does not take it lightly when we as believers begin to enjoy the things he gives to us more than God himself. When we enjoy the created more than the Creator he turns the very same blessings into curses on our lives. Are you detached from the source of your blessings? Have you lost sight of God in your life? Have your blessings turned rotten for you? Are you saved?
- 397Cold LoveAs we begin our new series entitled Countershock, Pastor Shah explores how the Israelites in the time of Malachi had grown cold. The love that they had for God wasn't true love, but a love that was weary. They sacrificed little, but questioned much. In spite of all of their cold love, God still was expressing His love, and proving to them that from the beginning His love was obvious. Has the Christian life become a burden for you? If so, then you need a revival; you need a countershock. As someone said, “before you can be revived, you have to be vived, you have to be saved.” Are you saved?

In this sermon Pastor Shah teaches about what the difference between the providence of God is vs. what a miracle is. Have you experienced the greatest miracle in your life? It’s a spiritual miracle. It’s being born again. One moment you’re living in sin and death and the next you are a new creation in Christ.

In this sermon, we learn all about how Jesus raised the dead to life, and how he can do that same miracle for you. Spiritually we are dead, and Christ is the only one that can raise us to life. What do you believe about Jesus? When he raised the dead, some called him a prophet but others called him God. What do you call him? He raised the physically dead to life, which is amazing, but the greater miracle is when he raised the spiritually dead to life. He is doing that even today. Have you been spiritually raised to life?
- 400The Sin-ForgiverOnly God can forgive sins. Jesus claimed to forgive sin. How could he do this? In this sermon, Pastor Shah walks through how Jesus could not only heal physically, but he can also heal our spiritual paralysis. Can you see God working or are the smudges of your sinful hearts keeping you from seeing Jesus? Are you like the men who were willing to tear down the roof to bring their friend to Jesus or are you like the scribes who could only sit back and cast doubts at Jesus? What do you believe about Jesus? Do you believe that he was and is God who has the power to forgive sins? Are you saved?
- 401The Joy-ProducerThe turning of water to wine is one of the most well know miracles of Jesus. Most people would even use it as a proof text for drinking, but this miracle is so much more. Through this, Jesus shows us that he is the wine, and only he brings internal joy. Is your Christian life more resembling of a funeral service or a wedding service? Are you full of misery or are you full of joy? The coming of Jesus in any life brings joy. Has Jesus come into your life? Are you saved?
- 402The Hope-BringerChrist is the only one who can bring us true hope. Continuing in our series on miracles we come to two of the miracles of healing Jesus performed. Jesus gave hope to the woman with the issue of blood and Jairus both. This hope wasn't based on status or possession, but based on the faith in Christ that they both held on to. Are you facing hopelessness today? Does it feel like its not going to get any better? Have you met Jesus? Are you saved? Have you truly committed your problem to him?
- 403CommunityNo matter what will become obsolete in this world with regards to technology and cultural habits, the church of Jesus Christ will never become obsolete. God has said in his word that his church will remain no matter what and the Gates of Hell will not prevail against it. Throughout the history of Christianity, peoples and governments have prognosticated the death of the gathered church. They died but the church still gathers and lives on.
- 404A Marriage Made in HeavenThis is the fourth message in our series on the Trinity. We learn about the relationship between the Father and the Son, how they are equal in essence but distinct in role. This is not only important for us to understand theologically, but also practically as our marriages should be pictures of the Trinity. We are to represent God in the way we relate to our spouses. - 408It's Time to Grow UpIn this message, we examine Jesus' encounter with the disciples of John the Baptist and the Pharisees. He tells them that you can't sew new fabric onto old cloth or put new wine in old wineskins. Many Christians try to incorporate old customs into their spiritual lives, essentially playing with shadows. Christ has opened the doors so that everyone may come to salvation without being hindered by aspects of the law. The church is the "new wineskin."
