Relaunch and Post-Campaign Vision 0:00 And when he hit her, she said, I've never been hit so hard in my life. I thought I was gonna die. The number 1 injustice in my opinion right now is taking the lives of innocent children in the womb. That the0:11 answer to California's problem is not political, but it is spiritual.0:17 Welcome to the relaunch of Unfiltered with Pastor Jay. During the campaign, Unfiltered with Pastor Jay was an opportunity to speak candidly with California about biblical values, leadership, and the0:29 issues affecting families across our street. Although the campaign has ended, the assignment to pray for California, speak truth, and serve its people has not. And today, we're excited to relaunch0:41 Unfiltered with Pastor Jay under Revive California where each week we'll spend about 10 minutes or so discussing what's happening in California, why it matters, and how prayer must lead us0:53 into wise biblical actions. And joining us each week is pastor Che Ahn, our senior pastor of Harvest Rock Church in Pasadena, president of Harvest International1:05 Ministry, an international apostolic leader who has ministered in more than 90 nations and the visionary behind Revive California and 1000000 ecclesia movement. His1:17 passion is to see spiritual awakening lead to lasting transformation throughout California and beyond. Papa Che, welcome back to Unfiltered.1:29 Well, thank you, Michelle. It's, so good to be back. I'm excited to communicate with our friends in California and even beyond California because what I'll be sharing, I think, are truths that's gonna really bring about revival and reformation, to those who are here and those who apply the word of God.1:41
1:49 Well, amen to that, Papa Che. So many people followed your campaign for governor, and some may be wondering, now that that campaign is over, what's next? Papa Che, can you tell us
2:01 what's next?
2:02 Well, yes. I'm just getting started to be honest with you because, I'm reminded of John Paul Jones, the naval captain of the United States during the revolutionary war. And, even though
2:14 he was being bombarded by the number 1 navy, power of Great Britain and his ship was ready to sink, They sent a message to him and asked if he was gonna surrender. And he said, no. I've
2:26 just begun to fight. And he became a tremendous hero and even helped, the French, after the revolutionary war. So he he survived, but he really thrived and was
2:38 just getting started. I I feel no question about God called me to run, and I obeyed the call. And, and I didn't realize. I knew I was a long shot going into it.
2:50 I did run to win, but I also knew that it would take a miracle. But what happened was is that when I began to run, God began to unfold to me the real purpose of me running, that the
3:01 answer to California's problem is not political, but it is spiritual. And that he called a pastor, who was a spirit filled pastor, with a biblical world view
3:13 to really bring about revival and reformation and do our part. And he started to unfold the strategy for us to bring about transformation in California. And I'm looking forward to sharing
3:25 that, not only today, but in the days ahead.
3:29 Wonderful. So, how did Revive California come about, and what exactly is Revive California?
3:36 Well, Revive California is a 5 0 1 c 4 organization. It's not a 5 0 1 c 3. 5 0 1 c 3 would be the typical nonprofit organization. But 5 0 1 c 4, you can engage in
3:48 educating people and be more involved on the government mountain. And, that was birthed, on Valentine's Day 20 21. Now think about the context of it is that,
3:59 president Trump ran in, in in November of 20 20. And in, January, we're waiting for the results, and I even went out to Washington DC on January the 6th,
4:11 in 20 21 now. Well, we're in the new year. And, very, very disappointed, with the, election results and my take on it. And I just feel like we're getting more affirmation
4:23 about it, but the election was stolen. And I was really, really discouraged, and I felt like the Lord say, bring the apostles together in, in California and pray
4:35 together and strategize together and how we can see California transformed, at least do our part. And so I called all these major pastors like Sammy Rodriguez, Bill Johnson, Jim
4:46 Garlow, the list went on. And, and, we, I I was shocked that they all came to Pasadena, and I shared the vision. What if we started a network
4:58 called Revive California, and where we would be focused on really advancing the kingdom here, and that we would be involved in really helping the church get mobilized and awake
5:10 and be active in the election process. And so that's how Revive California began. And, and to my amazement, you know, they all said yes. And so
5:22 many of them are now board members, advisory board members of Revive California. But during the election, as I'm running for governor, it took on a different perspective, and we realized that God gave us a 5
5:34 1 c 3 4 for us to really, strategically, lead the way and bring it about revival and reformation.
5:43 Amen. Well, you talk about reformation, but as as we go further into that, 1 very important thing that you've taught us is that we begin 1st in prayer. Why is that, Papaji?
5:55 Well, it's really interesting, Pappaj. You know, when it comes to prayer, Jesus himself said in Mark chapter 11 verse 17, my house will be a house of prayer for all nations. He didn't say house of
6:07 preaching, although we love preaching. He didn't say house of fellowship, although we love to fellowship. But he says, my ekklesia is primarily to pray. And that's in his sovereignty
6:19 has chosen to use us, his children, his people. We're now priests and kings. If you're born again, you're part of the kingdom of God. You're part of his family. But he's
6:31 given us a vocation. He's given us a job, and is to transform the world beginning by praying. And that's why he taught us to pray in Matthew chapter 6 verse 9, Our Father
6:43 who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. But in verse 10 is probably the most important prayer that Jesus gave to us to really understand what his heart is. He says, Thy kingdom come, thy will be
6:55 done on earth as it is in heaven. So his will is for heaven to come to earth, not for us to be raptured out to go to heaven, but to bring heaven down to earth. And
7:07 so, I know Jesus will come, and I believe the 2nd coming. Of course, we all do. If you're an Orthodox believer, you believe the 2nd coming. But in Revelation 21, we see when he does come, he creates a new heaven
7:19 and new earth. So what we do on earth matters now because I really believe what we bring about as far as justice and righteousness carries over into the new heaven and new earth.
7:30 And, of course, souls that we win are the ones who are gonna be, with Jesus forever and ever. And so Psalm 89 verse 14 then comes to my mind that the foundation of heaven's throne
7:42 is righteousness and justice, love and truth proceed from his his presence. So think about these 4 values, justice, righteousness, mercy or love, and
7:54 truth. And what we see is just the opposite. We don't see biblical justice in California, from Sacramento, because the the number 1 injustice, in my
8:06 opinion, right now is taking the lives of innocent children in the womb. And we have qualified abortion with proposition 1. We made ourselves a sanctuary state for abortion and then even the
8:18 transgender ideology. Think about it. Men can still run a young man can play, women's sports up to high school in California. And it's just evil, and we've been doing that for
8:30 years. Even though the Supreme Court just recently ruled on the West Virginia situation, they they have a right to just have women in women's sports. Here in
8:41 California, Newsom said we're not gonna change a thing as soon as that supreme court decision came out. And so we see, evil policy that really, is not just because men
8:53 are biologically faster, stronger, And, we've seen this in swim meets. We've seen it in track. We've seen it, you know, on the boxing in the arena, for the Olympics, the last
Birth of Revive California
9:05 Olympics. And I remember a woman was being interviewed. She was a top boxer, but she lost to a man, a transgender, who said he's a woman, but he actually biologically is a man.
9:17 And when he hit her, she said, I've never been hit so hard in my life. I thought I was gonna die. And and so we just say that's unjust. It's unjust to allow these things to take
9:28 place in women's sports. And so so we gotta see justice, righteousness. Of course, we do it in love. The transformation is gonna be through God's love because God loves everyone in California.
9:41 And, and I love California. My wife and I came in 19 84 because he called us to revival and a great harvest in California. And through love, we're gonna preach the truth, the
9:52 gospel of Jesus Christ, the gospel of the kingdom. And I really believe that we're gonna be seeing, righteousness, justice, and transformation along with people receiving joy,
10:05 freedom, from depression, freedom from anxiety, because that's all part of the gospel. Jesus took care of that, and that's why he says, the kingdom of God is not meat or drink, it's not physical. And
10:17 Romans 14 17, but it's righteousness, peace, and joy in the Holy Spirit. But it begins with prayer, especially 2 Chronicles 7 14. If my people are called by my name, Mohammed
10:29 themselves, and pray. This is God's mandate, direction for us. And turn from their wicked ways who have to repent. And then he says, then I'll forgive their sins, hear their
10:41 prayers, forgive their sins, and heal their land. And I really believe that California is gonna get healed, but it begins with prayer.
10:48 Well, amen to that, Pastor Che. These are very important distinctions you've made. You started, your campaign this way, speaking about these eternal truths
11:00 and, through compassionate justice and, beginning what is called 1000000 ekklesia that we're also going to see through Revive California. And I, if you
11:12 could give us a little bit about what 1000000 ekklesia is and how California over
11:18 1000000 ecclesia really didn't come from me. It came from my good friend, doctor Ed Siboso. He's the best selling author of Ecclesia, which I highly recommend. But he is an apostle
11:30 based out of San Jose that has actually seen transformation come to Argentina and different parts of the world through prayer evangelism. And so 1000000 ecclesia
11:42 what 1000000 ecclesia is is that, he says that all of us are believers are part of the ekklesia. We're talking about ekklesia as the word that when Jesus said in Matthew
11:54 16 verse 18, I will build my church. That Greek word is ekklesia, which is very significant because Jesus took a, a term that was
12:05 400 years before he was even born, from Athens. Greece is a government term. The akklesia was a legislative body of the nation of Athens, which was a city nation,
12:18 Athens. And so, they had citizens, but not everyone could make a decision with, you know, 1000000 citizens, so they had to have a legislative body. So,
12:29 basically, what he's saying is that we're the congress. We're the parliament of the kingdom. And but the way we legislate is through prayer. And so that's why the next verse again, he said, I'll give you the case of the
12:41 kingdom. In verse 19 of Matthew 16, whatever you bond on earth will be bound in heaven. Whatever you lose on earth will be loosed in heaven. Now he mentions this again in the next, in Matthew chapter 18.
12:53 And he says that in verse 18, whatever you bond on earth will be bound to heaven. Whatever you lose on earth will be loosed on heaven. And then he just says that when 2 or more agree about anything that they may ask, it
13:05 shall be given to them by my father. Here's where 2 or more gather together in my name, there I am in your midst. And, of course, he's omnipresent. He's everywhere. But what he's saying is is that when you gather in
13:17 my name as believers, it doesn't take many, just 2. It could be the husband and wife. My wife and I pray every day together, as as the Lord allows. Sometimes I'm
13:28 traveling in circumstances, different time zones, but but, as as far as we could depend upon ourselves, we've come together to pray. And there's powerful when there's agreement
13:40 and prayer, because that word agreement, in, Matthew 18 19 is the Greek word symphaneum. We get the word symphony. So when you come together in unity
13:52 and prayer, it's powerful. That's how we are able to bind and lose. It's not just going solo. No. Just your own personal prayer time is great. And, and again, you're the ekklesia
14:04 just as a believer, but he never intended for us to be lone lone rangers. He's always called us to community, beginning in the home and and the family. And so what he's saying when 2 or 3
14:16 gather, then I am gonna anoint it. I'm gonna bless it. I'm gonna manifest my presence, then I'm gonna answer your prayers. And so what we're trying to do with the million ecclesia, this idea came from,
14:28 Ed Savosa because I said, Ed, he told me he's gonna pray for a strategy for my campaign. And so when I met with him in San Jose, in December, this is early on December, he said, I got the word of the Lord for
14:39 you. It's 1000000 to plan as many. And so we came up, and if in our website, the 1st thing you see is 1000000. And and I'm sure you'll see
14:51 it in our revived California website as well. But what we're doing is is that we're calling people to sign up, to say, I'll be an echosseum, and I'll find someone to pray
15:03 with. And what we're doing, though, is we are giving specifically, pray 10, win 10. What is that? We're asking you to write down 10 names of unbelievers, but reserve
15:15 5 of them. 5 could be your family members who don't know Jesus, friends who don't know Jesus. But the other 5, we're asking you to pray for your mayor. Pray for the governor of
15:27 California, pray for the district assembly, district senator, and pray for president Trump and whoever's the president. And so it's a government and it's based on 1st
15:39 Timothy chapter 2 verse 1. Because I I really feel that the 3 major prayers that God has given to us, 2nd Chronicles 7 14, Matthew, what we call the Lord's Prayer, Matthew
15:50 6 starting verse 9. But 1st Timothy chapter 2 verse 1 through 4 is absolutely, in fact, Paul uses a very strong words. He says,
16:02 I urge. It's it's it's the level of I give you a command, Timothy. This is what I'm asking you to do as my spiritual son from 1 apostle to another. Paul is the apostle,
16:14 who started the whole movement, but, Timothy was now in Ephesus, as the overseer of the church. He's the apostle over Ephesus at that time. He said, I urge that prayers,
16:27 supplications, intercessions with thanksgiving be made on behalf of all men. And so in other words, pray every single kind of prayer you can to pray for
16:38 people who are lost. And then we know it's in the context of the lost because it goes on to say for kings and all those who are in authority. The word kings is plural. It's not
16:50 just praying for Caesar, the king, at that time was Nero, But he's saying governmental leaders because they were Pontius Pilate was a governor during Jesus's time, so they're magistrates, governors.
17:03 And so what he's saying is pray for in our situation, pray for your governor, pray for your district attorney, pray for the ones that God leads you to, the state assembly, state
17:14 senator. And I I pray this every day. I pray for Sasha Perez, who's my district, state senator. I pray for John Harabedian, who's my state assembly. I pray for mayor
17:26 Gordo, the mayor of Pasadena, my mayor. I pray for and I'm praying now for Hilton to win because I feel that we have to get someone that is conservative. You know, and, again,
Prayer: Foundation for Justice
17:38 it's lesser of 2 evils. Of course, I want to be in the final, but I didn't make the final. And now but thank God there is at least a conservative Republican, that's running. And so I'm praying for him
17:50 now every day. And so this is what he and then he goes on to say so we can live a peaceful, quiet life for god desires all men to be saved and come to a knowledge of the
18:02 truth. And what he's saying is that my heart is is that I love the world. I gave my son for the world. For god so loved the world that he gave his all to be god's son, that whoever believes, he
18:14 desires all to be saved. He says this of 2nd Peter chapter 3 that none should perish. He desires everyone to get saved, and he said the path to seeing people get saved is praying
18:25 for individuals, but governmental leaders because they create the atmosphere that is conducive for the gospel to go forth so we can live a peaceful, quiet life. And then he concludes because in
18:37 verse 4, he desires all to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth. And so if all people did who watch this is will sign up and say, I'll be on that list here, and I'm gonna get to pray 10,
18:50 and win 10 because when you're praying for them, you're going to look for ways to evangelize them and to, love on them and to see them come to know Jesus Christ.
19:00 Thank you, pastor Shay. And just a few housekeeping, items. Yes. You can find more of this information on revive cal dot org. That's revive cal dot org. And there will be a tab
19:12 there is a tab for Amelia Ecclesia so you can sign up. And we'll have various ways for you to even, jump online with it and just see how simple but
19:23 powerful it can be, just where 2 or 3 gather. Right? So it could be by phone. It can be by Zoom. There aren't a lot of rules about it at all other than that we ask
19:35 we invite you to pray with us. So, Papa Che, as we round out this, conversation for this week, what do you want folks to be,
19:45 understand about these conversations? What is it that you would like to discuss on a weekly basis?
19:45 What can people conversations? What is it that you would like to discuss on a weekly basis? What can people expect?
19:51 Well, what I wanna talk about is the vision of seeing revival and reformation in California. And, of course, that means transforming California. We have a friend who's started an
20:03 organization that California would be saved. See, when he saves us, it's 2nd Corinthians 5 17. Anyone being Christ, he's a new creation. His whole life has passed away. Behold, all things are new.
20:15 And I really believe as we preach the gospel that came down and we plant churches and pray and mobilize 1000000 ecclesia, we'll see a revival that will lead to transformed lives,
20:27 that will lead to the transformation of California. So that's the vision, and that's the mandate God's given to me. And, of course, it all came as I'm running for governor.
20:39 And by the way, I preached to more people, and during that period of running for governor than years combined. This is not hyperbole. This is not exaggeration. Just to give you
20:50 1 example, a, a news company from Japan want to interview me and put me on television because they saw me as an anomaly.
21:02 I'm Asian. I am, conservative. I'm a pastor, and, and I supported president Trump. And they highlighted that because the president right now of Japan
21:14 is a pro Trump person, and they call the female Trump of of Japan. And so, they came in, shot, and and the questions they asked me, I just shared the gospel.
21:26 It was so amazing. God loves you. Jesus died for your sins. He rose again. So after I shot this, I, I I asked the the the crew, the the camera crew and the, the
21:38 journalist, there are 3 of them, and they wanna give their lives to Jesus Christ because they heard the gospel. I said, did you understand what I was saying? They said, yes. They all spoke English. Well, 2 out of the 3
21:47 gave their hearts to Jesus Christ. But it gets better because we have an apostle, Gaius Lawrence in, Osaka, and he sent me a text. He was blown away. He said, Papa
21:59 Che, I saw you preach the gospel on Japanese television to millions of people. And, I I was I didn't know this was gonna happen, so I explained what happened, how I had this, and I had
22:11 no idea they're gonna air it on national television. So it's amazing how God used the platform to run for governor to reach souls that I have, never thought I would be able to reach, but I'm
22:23 reaching them. And it continues because I was on another radio interview with 2000000 people. At least that's what they said, and I preached the gospel to them. And I gave an invitation for people to give
22:35 their lives to Jesus Christ. These were not Christian hosts. These were people just out in the marketplace, but God's opened up doors like that for me. And I just thank God and give him all the praise, all the glory.
22:46 Well, thank you, Pastor Shay. Amen to that. I think that, just being able to walk with you in this season, we see how your obedience and faithfulness is just blessed by,
22:58 our savior and how your your your vision and message is getting out to advance the kingdom. So thank you. Thank you for joining us for the relaunch of Unfiltered
