Trying to juggle life puts an enormous amount of stress on the mind. With the mind stressed, the body soon follows. You can't have life happen without being stressed. Yet you still have goals to accomplish. You have dreams to live. Every day, there are 86,400 seconds to live your best selfie which is 1,440 minutes. The question is.... Are you wasting your time? Well, in order to answer that simple question, you have to know a few things about time. The K.I.S.S. ~ Make time count! How are you spending your time? Where are you using all of those minutes? 240 minutes (4 hrs) of food and family 480 minutes (8 hrs) of sleep 120 minutes ( 2 hrs) of driving/commuting 600 minutes (10 hrs) left to do what you desire and need What are your responsibilities and non-negotiables? What areas are you committed to regardless of what happens? Family time Job Date night Make time for what matters. Open your schedule to do what counts. Be present. You are not restricted to what you see every day. You can do anything you want. Dream your dreams. Reach for the impossible. Be intentional about your time. Make time count! If we can't logically reason out the situation or circumstance, we are left with worry. And you know what happens to the heart with worry? It decays. Who wants to live with a broken, worried heart? No one! So today, we break the cycle when worry is winning. The K.I.S.S. ~ Break the cycle! Think about what you currently do when worry is winning? You lose sleep. You eat stuff that isn't good for you. You're crabby and irritable. You pester your child for answers. You pour over possible solutions. You ask others for their opinions. You play all scenarios over and over again in your mind. Do any of these help? NOPE! It reminds me of my grandmother. She was such a strong woman. A lady of fortitude. Nothing was impossible in her opinion. There was always a way. But one thing that she did extremely well was worry. She always stewed over stuff. Now understand, this was my recollection from childhood. When I got a little older, I began to see the difference of worry versus concern. This worry ran deep in her blood and in mine. I got the itch at a very young age. I would always overthink and replay scenarios in my head. Yet I also took on her strong knees. Taking my worry and praying about the situation. After becoming a mama myself, I finally got it! I understood not just in the mind, but in the heart of how worry can overcome you. Having one child, there's a lot of worries. But having a basketball team was a whole other level. Let's say it's earthquakes, hurricanes, and tsunamis all rolled into one. Living in worry is not for the beautiful and graceful. So it's time to break the cycle! Analyze the situation for what it is. Don't overdramatize what is really happening. Also, don't underplay what's happening. Keep it real! Make decisions based on what you can control. There are many moving parts to worry about. You can only do what you can control. When you sit with that, it becomes more of a concern versus worry. And then the rest, you need to let go. Give it to God while taking the next step. The way to silence worry is to take A.I.M.! It's the action that mutes worry. Worry is going to show up in your life big time. It's part of the initiation to living. It is what it is. But you don't want worry to consume you and your heart. Decay destroys relationships. Your relationship with your child is indispensable. You need to be a warrior that goes to battle with no worry. You are doing what you know is best. And no one can do it better. Yes, mistakes will occur. You'll say something you wish you hadn't. However, you are blessed with this child to raise him/her up to go out and impact the world. Worry isn't winning your heart.   7. 311793 Do You Truly Believe?It's the most wonderful time of the year! There are ribbons and bows and a bright shiny nose where lights twinkle bright with everything nice. The season of magic and wishes. Do you truly believe? The awe of Christmas. The season of dreams.. Desire to be supported and encourage by other like-minded women? But what she said got me thinking. How deep is our belief? Are we really taking our belief beyond what's taught in church and applying it in our daily life? We live in this post perfection world always trying to impress someone. The post that exudes the natural you. The pose that takes off an extra five pounds. #natural The lighting that shows a smooth complexion. #nofilters The outfit that highlights only your perfect silhouette. #justme We pretend to make everything perfect. We put up a wall so we don't have to show what's real. But that is what really matters. What is real! Life isn't about perfection. Life isn't about being obsessive. It's about flaws and beauty. It's about pain and resolve. It's about hardships and hopes. It's about weaknesses and strengths. The K.I.S.S. ~ Do you truly believe? "That is why, for Christ's sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong." ~ 2 Corinthians 12:10 God can do whatever God wants to do. He doesn't need us to be God. No perfected post is going to get God to "Like" us more. However, God will marvel one way or another. He will see how you continue to strive for post perfection, worthy only for perfect timing and make-believe. Always trying to construct and control what is supposed to be. Or He will see your heart as genuine and kind, one who tries in the midst of messes. Not always getting everything right but knowing you're doing what you believe and see. Why not awe God by believing in what He can do? Not because of what you learned in Sunday School or church, but because you believe. Your faith goes beyond the walls of the church and into your world that's unsettled and unpredictable. God is good. Let God shine through your messes. You don't have to be #flawless. You need a heart that believes. Hope for a fresh start. Faith that goes beyond what you can see. Trust to keep calling on Him no matter what. Christmas isn't about make-believe or the magic of lights. It does add to the ambiance. Christmas is about God whose love is greater than all.   8. 321794 Presence with a PurposeThe desire to live your day with intention is easier said than done. What you need is having a presence with a purpose. There is a lot of talk about being present. In fact, you could say it's all the rage. But most of us are present with technology or interruptions. Desire to be supported and encourage by other like-minded women? Join us at Women of IMPACT. http://bit.ly/WomenofIMPACT We are only as present as the next person who grabs our attention first. The email that shows up on our phone. The text from your girlfriend. The screams of our children. Our day seems to always be putting the fires out. We're just refereeing the day. And yes, distractions will occur. But it's how we handle them when they arrive that determines whether we are responding versus reacting. Here we are. Another day in the game of life. Are you choosing presence or reaction? Are you getting wrapped up in all the stuff that keeps you from your goals? Or are you ready to wrap yourself up in presence? The K.I.S.S. ~ W.R.A.P. yourself up in presence! I was watching football. Yes! The college season is coming to a close. Thank goodness for Bowl games. But what caught my eye was the game between the San Francisco 49ers and the New Orleans Saints. It was an incredible match between these two teams. Both had strong offenses and defenses. It came down to the last 45 seconds of the game. Now if you watched from the beginning, you could see the intensity and the passion of the players. They were not shopping for Christmas presents in their heads. They were not concerned about bills that are due. They weren't even thinking about how good they did or didn't look on TV. It was ALL about the one game; the next play, the next block, the next tackle, the next interception, the next down. Presence is the totality of awareness. Whether it's sitting in silence, being still in the moment, or responding with activity and vigor. Presence is the action that moves you forward in life. So invest with daily consistency, increase your effectiveness, and W.R.A.P. yourself up in presence. Wait - It's not about doing nothing, sitting around waiting. Waiting is an act of being still. You're calculated in what you do with the presence of mind to keep your heart and head in the game. Renew - Keep your dream alive in your heart. Don't put your dream on the back burner or left on paper or in the planner. You can't do it all now. But you can keep your dream alive; renew it in your heart. Awareness -  Ready yourself. Be watchful and anticipate what's to come. Watch the doors open and even some close. Awareness keeps you alert and ready. Prepare - Take A.I.M. Planning is a good tool. So use it and take the next step. One step at a time leads to miles of greatness. You are not going to win the game of life in one day. Prepare every day and take aim! You can choose to flounder from one thing to the next. You can make it your purpose to live based on everyone else's calendar and schedule. Or you can have presence with a purpose that continues to lead you on your journey. You're just not going to wake up letting life happen to you. You are going to be apart of the process, the purpose, your presence. Nothing is impossible! This is the day to rise up, to shine bright, and to be aware. One Christmas many years ago, I remember when all the craze was Elmo. He could sing and dance and do so many other things. At the time, our oldest would have loved it. Everywhere I went, they didn't have it. Now if you recall, that was way before the internet as we know it. You actually had to go to the store or call to order it. It was nearly impossible. Christmas came and a special package arrived from Uncle Brian. Somehow, Uncle Brian found the ONLY Elmo left in all of the United States of America. Keilyn loved it! Elmo brought her so many smiles. I couldn't find it. My husband couldn't find it. Yet we never gave up. The family searched long and hard; in stores they never thought would carry it. And sure enough, Elmo was found. The goal achieved. Just because obstacles get in the way doesn't mean you have to abandon your dreams and goals. All you have to do is .... The K.I.S.S. ~ Change your direction! What is your "Elmo"? It would be nice if it was as simple as a stuffed dancing toy. But your "Elmo" is very different. So when obstacles arise, when those brick walls seem insurmountable, change your direction. Don't lose your goal or your dream. Keep your eye on the prize. What are you going after? You most certainly can get there. I've had many dreams and goals in my lifetime. And I'm sure many more will come. But there are those few that stick to you like glue. You can't shake the feeling it gives your heart when you talk about it. You can't help but dream about it anywhere, anytime with a smile. So dream your dreams. Go for your goals! This is the beginning of a season of hope! Unwrap your dream. Open up your heart. You begin to think about what to wear and what to bring. If you're hosting the party, that's a whole other ballgame. You want to feel pretty. You want to enjoy the night. But if you wear the wrong shoes, you won't be dancing too long. If you choose the wrong outfit, you might feel like an elf on the shelf. Just put me up and laugh. This may seem harsh, however, the truth sometimes is. We can be so hard on ourselves. Honestly, what people see in us, is not how we see ourselves. You are basing your assumption of what they think of you on a look and a glance. That's very narrow-minded. And it puts your family, friends, colleagues at a disadvantage when they didn't even know it. And what's really unfair, is how your interpretation of a look from someone else leads to how the night will end. Your basis on how you feel about yourself is solely placed in the eyes of a stranger. Don't place the blame on a stranger. Who you see in the mirror is where you need to begin. You see, the gift of style has nothing to do with what's en vogue, or what the color of the season is. You can't buy it off a rack. It doesn't come in a one-size-fits-all. Your well-being, your healthy reflection of who you are, starts with your gift of style. So wear your style. Confidence becomes you! The K.I.S.S. ~ Wear your style - confidence becomes you! Life isn't about what everyone else is doing. You are unique! You are fearfully and wonderfully made. So why would you sell yourself short just because of a party? We have to be more willing to be who we are in the season. It's time to crack the mirror of perfection, stop believing what you think people are saying, and wear your style. Give grace. Give yourself grace. It's a place of acceptance without judgment. Smile more. There are too many people walking around with discontent and disappointment written all over their faces. When you smile, you erase what you think you should have because you can focus on what you do have. Your perspective changes. Wear confidence. You are not always going to like where you are in every season of life. But that doesn't mean you are "less than" in one season and "better than" in another season. Love yourself in every season.   12. 361798 When Stuff Hits the FanChildren can push you to your limits regardless of their age. Whether it's the holidays or every day, what do you do when stuff hits the fan? You can be running out the door ten minutes late to school, dance, or basketball practice. Desire to be supported and encourage by other like-minded women? The tension grows and your blood pressure increases by ten points. Why does life have to be so complicated? Can't the children just be ready when you give them the five-minute reminder? Well, you know that answer. Of course not. If only the children would cooperate all the time, life would be easier! I think it's a way to remind us how crazy we drive God. When we don't pay attention the first time (or second or five-hundredths time), don't you think God would like to raise His voice at us. But what amazes me is that God doesn't raise His voice most of the time. Instead, He whispers to get our attention. But if we're not careful, we won't hear Him. If we're not watching, we will not see Him. Children do the same thing. They think they know everything. They close their ears pretending not to hear. They ignore the obvious just because they can. Who needs to be reminded twenty times that you are leaving for practice? Well, obviously they do because they're never ready. Between the yelling and arguing, it can get really LOUD in the home to the point that no one is listening anymore. How do you maintain your sanity and leadership in your home when stuff hits the fan? Take it from the coach, "No one ever drowned in sweat." ~ Coach Lou Holtz The K.I.S.S. ~ No one ever drowned in sweat! Life is never going to be easy. There are lots of things that you can do to make it simple. But implementing simple takes consistency and fortitude. You have to be willing to go the extra mile when the going gets tough. Reflect on what's best. Take a step back. Breathe! What is the goal of the situation at hand? Listen to all sides. You need to know your child's point of view. Giving him/her the time to express this doesn't mean you are agreeing with them. Whisper a resolution. Or you can give a resolution with a giggle. Whether you're a Christian or not, many are familiar with the Bible verse, "In your anger do not sin": Do not let the sun go down while you are still angry." The holiday season can be a bit more trying as the financial hardships are increased due to giving gifts. Now you don't have to involve money in order to have an argument. You can be crabby just because you woke up before the alarm. It's ridiculous how we let something so trivial set us off. But this is REAL life! This in between tomorrow is SO vital to the health of your relationship. If you keep stuffing grumbles and grudges in your daily stockings, all you're gonna get out is more frustration and more fiddlesticks. What happens is by allowing anger to overtake our every day, we are giving up the prospect of a better tomorrow. We are holding ourselves hostage punishing not our spouses, but our own hearts. When you read the Bible verse Ephesians 4:26, it doesn't say anything about anyone except YOU! "In your anger do not sin": Do not let the sun go down while you are still angry. ~ Ephesians 4:26 In between tomorrow, it's about YOU!!! A marriage takes two, but anger takes only one! As much as it's nice to blame your spouse for the marriage's shortcomings, the anger situation is not about your spouse. The anger is about YOU! Basically what God is saying....You can't be in between tomorrow and have anger. Anger begins to harden the heart! Have you ever seen a log out in the woods where, over time, it begins to rot away? The decaying is a long process, but it eats at the very core of the log. When the rot has consumed the log, it disintegrates. That's exactly what happens when anger takes over your heart. So don't let the sun go down while you're in between tomorrow. Rise up and love in between tomorrow. The K.I.S.S. ~ Rise up! Even when the days are long and the joy is fading, rise up! Let your heart be glad regardless of your circumstances. You can choose to fly on the wings of doubt and fear. You can let your confidence rot away. You can embrace anger as your best friend. But where will that get you? Deeper into the darkness drowning out all possible rays of hope. Tarnishing smiles gathering the dust of sadness. A thousand miles of a road well-traveled. Rise up! Let your excuses and circumstances be tamed by the light of God, His presence. "Rise up and shine, for your light has come. The shining greatness of the Lord has risen upon you." ~ Isaiah 60:1 In between tomorrow is a pause for a better today. It's an opportunity to grow personally and spiritually. Don't let your anger stew in the night. Your marriage is worth all your might. Let the hopes for tomorrow bring forgiveness in the darkness.   14. 381800 Breaking BarriersWhy is it that you don't always see your path? Maybe the details aren't present, but the past is. The future doesn't look bright unless you begin breaking barriers. Many discussions echo the same sentiment that none of this makes sense. You want something different, but the timing is off. Desire to be supported and encourage by other like-minded women? Join us at Women of IMPACT. http://bit.ly/WomenofIMPACT Maybe you're waiting for perfection. Hoping for a brighter day. Yet it never seems to come. Why God won't You give me the details of what I'm supposed to be doing? If I only understood Your reasoning, then I wouldn't have anything to fret or fear. I would understand why I'm in this situation. Why I lost my job. Why my marriage is on the rocks. Why we have to move. Come on Lord. Sounds fair to me. An internal heart to heart struggle with God that never seems to get an answer. Therefore, the walls start rising up. Lord, if I can't understand, then why should I believe? The only certainty is the uncertainty of what tomorrow brings. "There's clarity in the past, confusion in the present, and uncertainty in the future." So if you rely on clarity, your walk remains in the past. Is that where you really want to continue your journey? The uncertainty in the future is simple. You can't see it, so no reason to believe it. There's no guarantee. You have no idea what the future holds. However, you can choose the present. This is the moment to create your now. Yet there you find confusion. Why. So. Many. Speedbumps? Life should not be so complicated. Where are the details? What are the next steps? Why can't I see the big picture? Because if you knew the whole story, you wouldn't reach tomorrow. Life is about breaking barriers; going against the grain of expectations to live out the promises of God. The K.I.S.S. ~ Breaking barriers! What if you knew 100% how your life would turn out and that all your dreams would come true? What would you do differently? Would you rise early to keep the focus and set your intentions for the day? Or, would you hit the snooze button to get 10 more winks of interrupted shut-eye? Most of us are quick to move on when there is clarity; what is guaranteed. But are slow when there are too many questions. We want the details. In fact, we demand them, especially from God. How many times have you cried out, "Why me, Lord?". Did you ever think that God's plan is better than yours? And in trusting Him, you are willing to do what He asks without question? It seems more than strange. You want answers, but God does not give you the details. You may not have the definitive clarity you want, but you have faith! God doesn't do whatever each morning the sun rises for you. He has determined your plan and set it in motion. The question is.... Are you willing to move even without the clarity, focus, and details? "The hope of what's to come is in your faith not by your clarity. You must not see in order to know." "Trust in the Lord with all thine heart, and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways, acknowledge Him, and He shall direct thy paths." ~ Proverbs 3:5-6 It's time to step out of the way and let God begin breaking barriers. Trust in Him knowing that He knows more. Let me ask you this question. What if you had all the answers and details. If God handed you the blueprint to your life, would you follow through with God's dream, or would you still stop and question? I know what I would do. Initially, I would want control. But that's the problem. We need to relinquish our control to gain clarity for today. That doesn't mean you'll have all the answers. But you will have exactly what you need when you need it. Think about Mary and how she was told by an angel that she would bear the Son of God. Yet she is a virgin. How can this be? God was breaking barriers to save you from the beginning of time. Why question Him now? Trust in what He reveals in His timing. "For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." ~ Jeremiah 29:11 Leave the details to God. Let Him do the heavy lifting. You follow through with what you know is true.   15. 391801 One Decision AwayLife is filled with so many decisions. Some are easy to make. Others leave us speechless. You are one decision away from a totally different life. It's estimated that we make 35,000 decisions in a day; choices to do something. That means the average person makes 1 decision every 2 seconds (assuming you sleep 7 hours a day). But some require more in-depth understanding. Joseph, the earthly father of Jesus, had a major decision to make. Matthew 1:18-25 (NIV) 18 This is how the birth of Jesus the Messiah came about: His mother Mary was pledged to be married to Joseph, but before they came together, she was found to be pregnant through the Holy Spirit. 19 Because Joseph her husband was faithful to the law, and yet did not want to expose her to public disgrace, he had in mind to divorce her quietly. 20 But after he had considered this, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream and said, "Joseph son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary home as your wife, because what is conceived in her is from the Holy Spirit. 21 She will give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus, because he will save his people from their sins." 22 All this took place to fulfill what the Lord had said through the prophet: 23 "The virgin will conceive and give birth to a son, and they will call him Immanuel" (which means "God with us"). 24 When Joseph woke up, he did what the angel of the Lord had commanded him and took Mary home as his wife. 25 But he did not consummate their marriage until she gave birth to a son. And he gave him the name Jesus. "Questions draw the spotlight! However, a decision moves us forward." ~ Kristianne Wargo Joseph needed direction. So he decided to get answers! The K.I.S.S. ~ Get answers! Joseph asked the tough questions. He tried to get the answers. REFINE what you are searching for. ILLUMINATE/HIGHLIGHT your concern. The answers LEAD you to one decision. Ultimately, you have to also know that once you get answers, then you must follow through with your decision. "Life is a matter of choices, and every choice you make makes you." ~ John C. Maxwell That choice involves one decision. You don't have to worry or fret the unknown. Simply make a choice, a decision. Be obedient to your discovery and answers. Remember, you are one decision away from a totally different life. You now have direction. "Be present. Be incredible. Perfection brings more self-induced attacks. Why would you put yourself down during a time of hope and love? Do the best you can! No one is complaining or comparing but you. Most people are hyper-focused on what they need to do to get through the holidays. Juggling the shopping lists Last-minute projects at school for the kiddos Checking the bank account twice Hoping a certain person does or doesn't come for the family gathering Everyone has their own drama. So there's no reason for you to add to your own drama. It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas everywhere you go. Do the best you can! As you take a moment to reflect on all that has happened this year, remember what you have accomplished. Celebrate the goodness in your life. Don't focus so much on what is still left to accomplish. That can wait until another day. Start believing in what's possible. Reach for your dreams wherever you are now. The K.I.S.S. ~ Do the best you can! Guess what? Christmas is going to come whether you're ready or not. So stop worrying so much and enjoy the process. Give yourself time to rest and see the awe in children's eyes. Look at the Star at night and imagine you were the one visiting the stable. Do you think you would have been worried about how you looked or if everything was prepared? No! You would do the best you could at that time. The same goes for today. God asks only what you can give Him. He doesn't look side-to-side or under your bed for dust bunnies. He wants your heart. And so does everyone else. Christmas is about family! Coming together and enjoying each other. Who cares about how the tree is decorated, where you bought your ham, or how many presents you didn't duplicate. Do the best you can! You have this moment to live your life, love who is in your presence, and to impact the world you touch. So what do you want from today? Do you want to keep yourself tethered to the drudges of complaining and comparison? Or are you willing to put aside what the world can dish out every day, and hone in on the hope and love of this season? "Do the best you can until you know better. Then, when you know better, do better." ~ Maya Angelou You got today! Smile from ear to ear. Remember, a little babe was born to bring hope and love to the world. But it didn't happen overnight. He had to be born and then grown and learn. You too need time to grow and learn, to be stretched and challenged. When you know better, then you do better. God's got you. This is your day to see all the possibilities. It's like unboxing the ornaments, untangling the lights, and fluffing the stockings. Desire to be supported and encourage by other like-minded women? Lifestyle has dictated your schedule. Beliefs have formed your expectations. So what do you treasure most during the Christmas season? I can think of so many different things that light up my heart. Each Christmas tree has a story based on where the tree became a part of our lives. We've moved so many times, trees tell stories. Surely, you can't leave out the Christmas wreaths. Oh, how many doors they have hung upon over the years. Then, the ornaments share the good news of what each child brought to us throughout the years. Stars from Christmas pageants, snowmen from classrooms, the nativity from lightbulbs. You'll have to ask my oldest about that project. But believe it or not, we still have that and the bulbs aren't broken. Christmas is built on stories shared over the years based on one belief; the birth of Jesus Christ. Within those beliefs are traditions created to remember this important time in our history. When you look at your wellness journey, it too is built on stories shared over the years. You were raised a certain way with influences as to your activities, eating habits, and the people around you helped to create an environment that set you on your wellness journey. For some, those are awesome traditions. Ones you want to keep for a lifetime. For others, the traditions of health are not real good ones. The traditions become more of a burden. Where are you in your traditions for your wellness? What belief do you carry that sustains goodness or attracts badness? You have the opportunity to decorate your life the way you know you need to. Give yourself the present of wellness every day. Decorate your life with hope! The K.I.S.S. ~ Decorate your life with hope! Earlier, I mentioned Christmas wreaths. Each one is so unique, decorated for a particular season on a specific door. Think of how there is no beginning and no end to a wreath. It just comes and goes, round and round. So does your wellness journey. It's a wreath with no beginning or end. You get to choose what you want on it; goodness or badness. It's a continuation; a journey of a belief shared throughout the years with morsels of sweat and good treats. It's the most wonderful time of the year! You get to choose what traditions you want; the habits that fuel your every day. So let's decorate your life with hope! What ornaments will brighten your days? What will give you a boost in your day? For example, drinking lots of water or more than you currently doing. Maybe it's eating more fresh fruits and vegetables. What color lights will you use? What will sustain your energy? More intentional movement. Maybe it's stretching more. What bow will make you sparkle? That's the motivation. That's your belief. What goes around comes around. The wreath has no beginning or end. You have a choice to choose what you want to do. You matter!!! As you prepare for the Christmas and holiday celebrations, remember what you are creating. A tradition to fuel your life! "Be present. That is the spirit of Christmas! It seems really strange that with everything we give, we get something in return. Desire to be supported and encourage by other like-minded women? We buy groceries and get a receipt.  We say "I do", and get a ring. We turn on the water and get a bill. But Christmas is not like that. We give our time and expect nothing in return. We give a donation in a red kettle bucket without getting a donation receipt. We bake the extra sweet treats that come only once a year and don't get anything but a hug. Why is Christmas so different than every day? Because it doesn't have to be. Christmas doesn't come just once a year. That is what makes Christmas so magical and timeless. It's for you every day. When you are tired and worn, you can rely on the gift given at Christmas. When your heart is broken in two, you can lean on the gift of Christmas. When a celebration is near, you can dance more. The spirit of Christmas is a gift from God sending His son here on earth to save and give us eternal life. A gift given without a thought of getting anything in return. And then we would make sure to add to their lists as to what they wanted to give those who have served them (i.e., teachers, postmaster, garage people, etc.). There's something about the element of surprise. You remember more deeply. You are rooted more personally. You are more emotionally invested. God did that for you and me with Christmas. He didn't have to give us His Son. God could have done something totally different. Not sure what it would have been. But He didn't have to give us Jesus the way He did. But He did!   20. 441806 All I Want is You!What do you want for Christmas? The question echoed by so many couples. The presents are nice. But the time spent together is more precious. All I want for Christmas is you! You know the famous song by Mariah Carey. In fact, you are probably humming it in your head. It's a catchy, upbeat melody that lingers in your heart. It's the heartbeat of the season; what you really want for Christmas. Most of us would enjoy a gift or two under the tree, but ultimately, love is what we are searching for. Think about why you watch the Christmas Hallmark shows or the reruns of White Christmas, Elf, Home Alone, Santa Claus, National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation, It's a Wonderful Life, and Miracle on 34h Street. All of these carry a theme of the real reason for this season. LOVE!!! Why only experience through technology? Make time to experience the season together. The last few days before the holidays might get a little intense. You may say a few things you didn't mean. You may even get frustrated by the hustle and bustle of the season. I was just out yesterday. And waiting in line to get gas, I was cut off by an older woman who not only cut me off, but cut off 5 other customers. Seriously! You need to protect each other this season. Protect your hearts. Play on the same team. Don't let your love for each other get tucked away. Don't just focus on the children and extended family members. Let your hair down, live life messy, and fall in love all over again. We need to take a page out of Mary and Joseph's book. Joseph remained obedient to God in serving and loving Mary. He could have run the other direction and said he changed his mind. But he did not. He took their relationship very seriously. And Mary, she was put in a position where she could have lost the love of her life. So what do you want for Christmas as a couple? The K.I.S.S. ~ All I want for Christmas is you! Make Christmas not about all the stuff that you have to wrap or wait to be delivered by the Amazon Prime truck. There is nothing more valuable than growing together this season in harmony and in love. All I want for Christmas is you! Pack your patience. Create your couple-time. Seal the love in your heart. A tiny word, a mighty power.  So many of our words uttered during the holiday season bring Christmas to life. We sing songs filled with words of wonder and hope. We repeat scriptures that leave a mark on our hearts. We read cards that say what's hard to put into words. Desire to be supported and encourage by other like-minded women? What is it with this tiny word that consumes our actions yet distracts our hearts? What would your list look like if God asked you to write it down? A better job Patience Money to pay the bills Family vacation New car And I wonder what Mary would have given Him the year she gave birth to His Son. Patience Discernment Grace Hope Love Gift is defined as a thing given willingly to someone without payment; a present. At Christmas we give gifts. The best gift ever given came from God.   22. 461808 What You Seek You Will FindClarity is hard to discover when you choose to live in the clutter. Instead of focusing on what you've lost, go in search of your desires. What you seek you will find. I don't know about you, but my mind can become overwhelmed with the last-minute details. Making sure I have everything on my list only to find that one will not arrive as it's undeliverable. Desire to be supported and encourage by other like-minded women? That what you want in life really doesn't matter. Oh, but it does matter. You matter! Be careful not to wrap yourself up in the pessimistic side of the holidays. You don't want to be the Grinch. Green does not look good on you. So instead of searching for what you can't have, go in search of what you want. What you seek you will find. The season of Christmas teaches us a lot when it comes to living life beyond what we see. We have to believe. We have to be willing to walk by faith and not by sight. (2 Corinthians 5:7) The K.I.S.S. ~ Walk by faith not by sight! You have so much to give the world. Your talents go far beyond what you can even imagine. Sometimes it's easy to wrap ourselves up in others' dreams and forget our own. But you don't have to. Take it from the Wisemen. They followed the star to find the baby who was born in Bethlehem. And then, they were willing to make changes to accomplish the goal at hand. They didn't have all the answers when they started out on their journey. The road on camels by faith and didn't rely only on what they saw, except for the star. You can walk by faith not by sight when you .... Look to God for guidance. Don't take the journey on your own. Know that God goes before you. No matter what you will face on the journey, God will direct your path. You are not alone. Walk by faith. Don't overthink. Don't let overwhelm become your middle name. Make adjustments as needed. Change is a blessing. And when God's got you, you have nothing to fear.   24. 481810 The Magic of ChristmasThe magic of Christmas doesn't come wrapped in bows and tucked under the Christmas tree. The magic of Christmas is silent. You don't hear it. You feel it. You know it. You believe it! The magic lies in your heart with the rush of indescribable pulsating beats that flutter when your faith awakens. He wants to give you your dreams. He wants to see you thrive in the world He created. He loves you so much that He sent His son here on earth. Luke 2:1-12 (NIV) In those days Caesar Augustus issued a decree that a census should be taken of the entire Roman world. 2 (This was the first census that took place while Quirinius was governor of Syria.) 3 And everyone went to their own town to register. 4 So Joseph also went up from the town of Nazareth in Galilee to Judea, to Bethlehem the town of David, because he belonged to the house and line of David. 5 He went there to register with Mary, who was pledged to be married to him and was expecting a child. 6 While they were there, the time came for the baby to be born, 7 and she gave birth to her firstborn, a son. She wrapped him in cloths and placed him in a manger, because there was no guest room available for them. Mary had a willing heart. She said yes to what seemed impossible. But there in her heart, the magic of Christmas. You have to be willing to say YES! Yes to the hard stuff. Yes to the easy stuff. Yes to the life that requires smiles and tears. But most of all, God wants you to say YES with your heart. He wants all of you. Not just when it's convenient or easy. He wants you during the good, the bad, and the ugly. Remember the shepherds. Luke 2:8-20 8 And there were shepherds living out in the fields nearby, keeping watch over their flocks at night. 9 An angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified. 10 But the angel said to them, "Do not be afraid. I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people. 11 Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord. 12 This will be a sign to you: You will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger." 13 Suddenly a great company of the heavenly host appeared with the angel, praising God and saying, 14 "Glory to God in the highest heaven,     and on earth peace to those on whom his favor rests." 15 When the angels had left them and gone into heaven, the shepherds said to one another, "Let's go to Bethlehem and see this thing that has happened, which the Lord has told us about." 16 So they hurried off and found Mary and Joseph, and the baby, who was lying in the manger. 17 When they had seen him, they spread the word concerning what had been told them about this child, 18 and all who heard it were amazed at what the shepherds said to them. 19 But Mary treasured up all these things and pondered them in her heart. 20 The shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all the things they had heard and seen, which were just as they had been told. The K.I.S.S. ~ Merry Christmas! That beautiful Christmas night, there was cause for concern and celebration. It started as a silent night and ended in celebration. Hope has come. Love has come. And now, here you are suddenly consumed by the world's desires. The busyness pulling at your heartstrings. There is no room. Or is there? I can only imagine how Mary felt after the angel visited. Lord, of all times, You choose now. I'm not ready. You are asking me to do something so extraordinary. I'm not worthy. Oh, you are worthy. You are ready. God can see your heart.
