Midday Prayer on Psalm 51:17

“The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit, A broken and a contrite heart”

Psalm 51:17 · KJV

The prayer

Written prayer

Dear Lord, You do not look at outward things. You see the heart. You are pleased not by what we do, but by the spirit within us. Today we come with humble hearts. We confess our weakness. We confess our need for You. Break down our pride. Remove our self-reliance. Teach us to walk in faith. Teach us to trust Your goodness. Let our sacrifices be pure before You. May we bring our time with joy. May we bring our time with joy, our talents with gratitude, and our resources with love—not to impress others or earn favor, but to honor You. Thank You for choosing us in grace. Thank You for blessing us in love. It is not the size of our offering that matters. It is the surrender of our hearts. Use our small gifts for Your purpose. Shape our lives to reflect Your will. Accept us, Lord, as we are. In Christ’s name. Amen.
