The Trinity vs. The Torah: Did Yeshua Really Teach a Triune God? | Episode #147

The Trinity vs. The Torah: Did Yeshua Really Teach a Triune God? | Episode #147

October 23, 2026 · 54 min

Is the Trinity truly a biblical doctrine, or is it a theological concept that developed long after Yeshua and the apostles?

In this episode of the SightedMoon Podcast, Ryan Nall and Joseph Dumond take a deep dive into one of Christianity’s most controversial doctrines: the Trinity and the identity of the Holy Spirit.

Beginning with John 14, we examine Yeshua’s promise to send the Comforter, His declaration that He would return to His disciples, and His teaching that both He and the Father would dwell within those who love Him.

But who exactly is the Holy Spirit? Is the Spirit a third, distinct person of the Godhead, or are we misunderstanding what Yeshua was actually teaching?

We also examine the connection between obedience to the Torah, the oneness of Yehovah, and the indwelling of God’s Spirit. When Yeshua said, “If you love me, keep my commandments,” was He introducing something new, or reaffirming the commandments given at Mount Sinai?

In this episode, we explore:

John 14:15–23 and the identity of the Comforter

The Shema: “Hear, O Israel, Yehovah our God is one”

Whether the Trinity is compatible with the Torah

The relationship between Yeshua, the Father, and the Holy Spirit

How replacement theology has influenced Christian understandings of God

Why obedience to God’s commandments matters

How Yeshua’s teachings connect directly to Deuteronomy and the Torah

Can a doctrine that claims to explain the nature of God withstand the test of the Torah?

Join Ryan and Joseph as they challenge traditional interpretations, examine the Scriptures in context, and ask whether modern Christianity has drifted from the understanding of God taught by Moses and reaffirmed by Yeshua.
