What’s your foundation? What are your morals, values, and truths?Is your foundation stable enough, secure enough, and safe enough for your marriage to last, children to inherit, and character to be admired and respected?Is your foundation godly, holy, righteous, biblical, and Christlike?What is under you that holds you up, supports you, and that you can put your weight on? Is it how you do life, what you stand for, and what you build on?I. The foundation of Christianity (Matthew 7:24-29):A. Hearing the word and doing it versus hearing the word and not doing it:1. You can’t have an unshakable foundation if all you do is hear, but you don’t do.2. How or what do you do when you don’t want to hear someone?· Selective hearing· Dull of hearing· Shallow hearing· Hard of hearing· Forgetful hearing· For a while hearing· Hearer, not a doer· Hear good, but rejection problems (2 Timothy 4:3 MSG)B. Hearer plus doer (James 1:23-25 TPT):1. Unshakable foundation, blessed, rewarded, fulfilled, significant.2. A doer who is doing is…· Teachable – learnable, growable· Acceptance – This is truth; will follow and obey· Application – This is for me; I’m talking to me· Practice – consistently do this, it’s a habit· Processes – Time, place, deadlines, amounts· Action – Believe it, behave it, belong to it· Obedience – Submit, surrender and serve
