Evangelism Is a Mindset, Not a Destination

Evangelism Is a Mindset, Not a Destination

October 1, 2026 · 31 min

We tend to think of evangelism as a destination, a finish line called conversion. But what if it's not a goal you're working toward, it's a mindset you live inside of every day? In this episode, Dr. Abidan Shah makes the case that the people who actually share their faith aren't doing it out of guilt. Somewhere along the way, something shifted in how they think. We talk about why it's the nature of a fire to go out, and what it takes to keep that passion alive, using the example of David Livingstone and his famous line about the smoke of a thousand villages calling him. Dr. Shah also shares a deeply personal story: why his father never changed the family's last name, Shah, after becoming a Christian, and how that one decision became a lifelong opening to tell people about Jesus. The episode closes with a line worth remembering: it's not a goal, it's a soul, along with practical, everyday ways to start living that out.0:00 – Evangelism Is Not a Destination.
