Be careful that money does not consume you. Proverbs 23:4 says not to weary yourself to gain wealth and cease from your consideration of it. Don’t let yourself be consumed by the relentless pursuit of riches.
Be careful that money does not deceive you. We don’t want it to consume us. Jesus emphasized the deceitfulness of riches—money promises peace, satisfaction, and happiness. But it can’t deliver on any of those things. And many wealthy people have no contentment in this world.
Be careful that money does not master you. Money can easily control our desires, our decisions, and our destinies. Wealth can be an enslaving force exerting undue influence over our lives. When we allow money to be our master, we risk losing sight of God, our true Master and Lord.
Life is not about accumulating riches. Instead, focus on loving and serving Jesus, using your blessings to glorify Him and expand His kingdom. Trust and watch as He works wonders in your life!
Prayer
Father, we thank You for the money You’ve entrusted to us, and we want to be wise stewards of what You've given us. Help us, Lord, to have the proper attitude toward money. That money would be our servant and not our master, that we would honor You from our finances so You would be glorified in our lives. We pray in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
