## Written prayer

Dear Lord, Thank you for shining your light, your radiant light of truth into the darkness of my soul and setting me free. I was lost in the darkness of my own ignorance, guilt and sin. I had no understanding of the power of your truth until your light illuminated the path to freedom. This world is shrouded in a blanket of darkness designed to keep me blinded from your truth. You came to shine your light into the gloom and despair of those lost in darkness but the dense darkness is so thick they do not comprehend your glorious light of truth. Lord, thank you for never giving up on me. You don’t want anyone to perish and will continue to shed your light into the darkness. Father, tenderize the hearts of all those I meet this holiday season. Shine the light of your love through me and penetrate their darkness. Deliver them from the foolishness of their ways and open their eyes so they can see the truth. Help them understand the truth so they can live and enjoy all you want to bless them with. Teach me how to love the unlovely with grace and compassion that they might see your light shining through me. Use me Lord to be your light in this season.

In Jesus name, Amen.
