# Morning Prayer on Hebrews 4:12

Sunday, February 22, 2026 · Bishop Robert Stearns

> For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

> — Hebrews 4:12 KJV

## Written prayer

Your word, Lord, is quick to cut to the core of the matter and expose the true intentions of my heart. Your word cuts both ways, it help me discern the truth in others, and also reveals where my flesh is blocking your spirit. I may think I am doing something for Nobel purposes, but your word will show me those hidden motivations where my pride and selfishness are hidden. As I read your word, you are daily exposing me to your truth. Your word is giving me the strength I need to make the corrections necessary to change my behaviors. As I embrace your corrections I find greater peace in my relationship with you. Amen.
