> Is it not to deal thy bread to the hungry, and that thou bring the poor that are cast out to thy house? when thou seest the naked, that thou cover him; and that thou hide not thyself from thine own flesh?

## Written prayer

Father I praise you for your heart of compassion and tenderness toward those in need. There are so many wonderful attributes about your beautiful nature. You are kind, loving, merciful, gracious and ever ready to meet my needs in times of trouble. As I reflect on your goodness I find myself wanting to be more like you in every way. It is your desire that I give generously the things necessary to support those in need from the practical to the spiritual. Just like you have generously given to me. Your heart has always been for the outcast and downtrodden; for those who are rejected and persecuted by the injustice of the powerful. These are our homeless who are living without shelter. These are the poor and the naked that touch your heart of compassion. How can I hide from these human beings and not be touched by their infirmity? How can I be desensitized when I walk by them every day and do nothing. Lord show me how I can help those in such dire circumstances. Enlarge my heart with your compassion and stir up a fire in my heart that will lead me to help them and always remember them in my prayers. In Jesus name, amen.
