# Global Prayer on 1 Corinthians 1:10

## Written prayer

Father, there are so many differing perspectives and interpretations of your word. I have seen churches split because of those differing visions and directions. Because of this your people have been hurt like children during a divorce. I know this must hurt your heart. You have called us to dwell together in unity. You said that the world would know us by our love for one another. When we let divisions stir up strife among us we can be sure the enemy is at work. It is his desire to destroy the testimony of Christians, and turn brothers and sisters against each other. When I think my opinion is right, and push that opinion on others to try and get them to validate what I think, I am not seeking the truth. I am seeking validation for my opinion. It is sad when I see people slandering and berateing those who disagree with them. Teach me to realize my finite opinion is a limited perspective. What really matters are the greater things such as love, unity, respect, and affection for one another.  Teach us to tolerate the differences and accept them in love. Help me to bless those who don’t agree with me and trust that you may be leading then in a different direction. In Jesus name, amen.
