> Then Daniel answered and said before the king, Let thy gifts be to thyself, and give thy rewards to another; yet I will read the writing unto the king, and make known to him the interpretation.

## Written prayer

Dear heavenly father, through today's reading I can see that the writing is on the wall. It is evident through the life of King Belshazzar that You desire nothing less than my complete devotion as I live my life. I declare that I will not give in to the drunkenness of pleasure and self gratification. I will not choose short term satisfaction in exchange for long-term pain. Therefore, I will set my priorities on the things above, I will dedicate my life to honor You in all that I do Lord. I choose to activate the same willpower that Daniel possessed when he had the choice to choose the riches of this world but chose the riches of Your Word instead. Daniel Understood that it is better to be blessed by the Lord than to compromise for the blessings of man. With all of this truth in Daniel 5 I make the conscious choice to live it out through my life!

In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
