## Written prayer

Lord, if I Have learned anything from Adam and Eve its not to cover up my sins. Both of them hid from you Lord and Adam blamed Eve and Eve blamed the serpent and neither one of them confessed their sin to you. They took no responsibility and were covered in shame. I wonder what would have happened if they ran to you and confessed right away that they had messed up. If they had repented of their sin and confessed it to you would it have been different? Could you have prospered them and given them a do over? God, you know all things so what in the world can I hide from you?  You know I am a sinner who is learning how to live in your presence and I am in constant need of a savior. I fail miserably but your mercies are new every morning when I ask for your forgiveness. I am dependent on your mercy, Lord. You can only show mercy to those who sincerely realize their mistake and turn from their sinning. Teach me to hate what you hate and love what you love so I can open my heart to your examination. Please remove whatever is sinful in my life. Give me the courage to confess my sins, repent, and let them go so I can find mercy in your sight. In Jesus name, amen.
