## Written prayer

Heavenly Father, You gave the apostles great favor and anointing to preach and confirm the resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ. You opened the ears of many to hear with their hearts the truth of what you apostles were saying. You gave them favor with the people. As they meet the needs of the needy you touched their hearts with the truth of your love for them. Through such acts of kindness, and laying aside all pretense and selfishness, hearts were won to the Saviour. Compassion and mercy softens even the hardest of hearts and inclines them to listen. Father you are love, and you are filled with goodness. You do good to all who call upon your name. It is your goodness that leads people to repentance. As I follow your example to serve others and look for opportunities to meet the needs of others I will find favor with you and with others. As I seek to serve and not be served I bear witness to the resurrection of Christ through my transformed life. I am not living to please myself as others do but I am living to please the risen Lord who has given me the grace to find joy in doing so. In Jesus name, amen.
