## Written prayer

Dear Heavenly Father, Resisting temptation and selfiish desires is not easy. There are plenty of things trying to capture my attention and hinder my obedience. But Your word promises that the more I resist, the more these things flee. The way to resist the devil is to resist the devil. That takes fortitude in the beginning, and holy habits to keep me grounded. Foster these things in me and give me peace when it grows tiring.
