## Written prayer

Dear Lord, Your ways are not always my ways! I turn to you and confess when I sin but there is still a human price. David loved You and fought many battles in Your name. When the wars were over he wanted to honor You and build a mighty temple for You to be worshiped in. But because of the blood on his hands he was not allowed to build it himself.

Even though David was forgiven there were consequences to his actions. You were pleased with the desire and intent of his heart to honor You but it passed to his son to actually build the house of worship. We all have a part to play in the master tapestry of life. Keep me content with which part is mine to play. Don’t let me fall into self pity because it doesn’t always work out the way I want it to. Like your word says, some plant, some water, and some harvest but it is the Lord that gives the increase. It shouldn’t matter what part I play as long as God acknowledges my contribution to his glory. You see Lord, and you know my heart. That is all that matters. In Jesus name, amen.
