## Written prayer

Lord, if the world only knew how much you loved them, they would never turn away from you. Religion has painted a false image of you as an angry, punitive, God who wants to spoil everyone’s fun. The truth is you came to spare us from the pain that sin causes. Sin robs me of my true identity and self-esteem. You came to give me hope and show me how to walk in love. Your desire is to protect me from the influences that are out to destroy my life. You want the best for me, and to deliver me from the guilt and condemnation that sin brings. Thank you for loving me. Amen.
