## Written prayer

Lord, there are so many times when I am afraid. I’m afraid of the way people drive, I’m afraid of getting sick, I’m afraid of not being able to provide for my family or myself, I am afraid of rejection, failure, and life in general right now. There is so much chaos and confusion it is hard to know whom I should believe. I don’t trust the politicians, the media, and so many of today’s leaders. It’s hard to know whom to trust. I will not put my confidence in outward circumstances. I will put my faith and focus on your Lord. I am resolved that ‘I will put my trust in you, and you alone.’ True faith is born out of my choice to believe. I believe in you Lord. Faith is not based on how I feel. My feelings are deceptive and they are where the enemy tries to attack me and make me afraid. The Israelites didn’t make it into the Promised Land because they were afraid of the giants in the land. Only one of the spies believed God and trusted that he would fulfill his promise. Strengthen my faith Lord, and help me rise above the turmoil in this world by staying focused on you. In Jesus name, amen.
