## Written prayer

Father, your eyes are always on your children. I know your plan is to lay a strong foundation so that you are able to build on it as you move me forward into your purpose for my life. You taught David as a shepherd in the meadows how to watch for the wolves and how to protect his sheep. He was content living as a shepherd among the sheep and willing to die for these wooley little creatures. He had a pure heart full of peace. He learned many lessons caring for those sheep that prepared him for his next, bigger assignment from God. David wasn’t seeking fame, fortune or honor. He loved his sheep and his simple life. It was that very character that showed God he could trust David with the responsibility of rulership over his people. He knew David would be more concerned for the good of the people than the pride of the station he was given. Help me be content Lord in whatever place I find myself. Remind me not to grumble and compare myself with others who I think have more. Help me trust you and learn from each season in my life, knowing this season will lead to the next. Your desire is to bless me as I find contentment in you.

In Jesus name, Amen
