## Written prayer

Dear Lord, I thank you that all those who believe in Christ and are your true disciples, have had their eyes opened to the truth through the influences of your holy spirit. Without the power of the holy spirit to guide me into the light and persuade me of the truth of God's love through his Son’s death and resurrection I would still be wandering around in darkness. It is through faith I received the righteousness of God, and by faith I am established. It is not by the works of the flesh that I obtain righteousness. My righteousness is as filthy rags. No outward expression of good works, through my own efforts, finds favor with you, Lord. It is the righteousness of Christ that covers me and allows me to stand in your presence. It is through faith in my lord Jesus Christ that God finds me acceptable and righteous. So I wait expectantly for your Holy Spirit to lead me into righteousness by faith in the one true living God, through his son Jesus Christ. It is not about legalism or conformity to rules and regulations and outward performance but I am justified by faith in my redeemer. In Jesus name, amen.
