## Written prayer

Father, I thank you for the music that soothes my soul. When I am distressed like Saul was, and the pressure of life becomes too much for me, and the enemy is knocking on my door with idle threats and accusations, I put the sound of gentle praise music on and all is well with the world. Music draws my spirit into your throne room and I find peace in your presence. My thoughts focus on you and the power of your word and the world grows dim in your presence. Saul found peace when David played the harp for him. David was anointed of God and his music came from his heart. It gave strength to saul. Lord I pray you will fill my heart with songs of praise and gladness. I pray my presence will give your strength to those in need of it. Let my words be like music to their weary souls as I speak words of refreshing truth to them. Make the gentleness of my spirit infuse their spirit with a sense of your peace in our midst and dispel all the turmoil in their life that torments them. You have made me a song of delight to those you send me to. May I be a sweet sound in their ears, in Jesus name, amen.
