## Written prayer

Dear Lord.

Today we pause to reflect on where we've placed our value and hope. We are prone to investing in fleeting things that rust, decay, and can be taken from us? Yet you have called us to invest in love, in justice, in kindness, and in spreading Your divine message. God, rip away our misguided passions for materialism and worldly success, and ignite in us a consuming desire for things eternal. Let our treasures be the smiles we bring to faces, the peace we bring to tumultuous situations, the love we share without condition.

Thank You for this sobering reminder that life is transient but Your word and Your kingdom are everlasting. Help us to live passionately for what truly matters, keeping our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen.

In the powerful name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.
