## Written prayer

Lord, you have so many different ways of speaking to me. Sometimes it is through your word, other times it is through people, and sometimes it is through dreams and vision. You spoke to Abram in a vision. Your vision was so unsettling you had to tell him to not be afraid. Your purpose for my life is more than I can comprehend or imagine. It is so unbelievable it is frightening and seems impossible to accomplish. That is exactly the way you want it. If I can accomplish your purpose in my strength then I don’t need to cling to you to make it happen. I don’t need to walk by faith because I can do it with my abilities. What you showed Abram was impossible for his finite mind to comprehend and you had to give him reassurance. You told him to ‘fear not’ it would be ok. You were his shield and protection and if he would be obedient to what you were calling him to do he would receive a great reward. God you know how fearful it can be to walk by faith when I don’t know what you are doing. As I step out in faith you will make a way for me – you will be my shield – and my faith will be rewarded. Give me the courage, Lord, to be obedient to your vision for my life, in Jesus name, Amen.
