## Written prayer

Jesus, my Lord, it breaks my heart to realize what you had to suffer on account of my sins. You were humiliated and dishonored by being crucified between two thieves. They mocked you as they watched you die with the sign King of the Jews above your head. They pierced your head with a crown of thorns as they scorned you. They jered you and taunted you to come down off the cross to prove you were the messiah. You were numbered among the transgressors because you bore my sin and that of everyone on this planet, yet you were without sin. You fulfilled the prophecy on that day. Even when you rose from the grave they didn’t believe. What more convincing sign could they have to prove you were the son of God? I weep with gratitude as I remember the price you paid with your suffering and death for my forgiveness and eternal life. It was my sins that crucified you that day on that cross. Oh, Lord, forgive me for my blindness and may I follow you all the days of my life for there is no one that loves me like you. In Jesus name, amen.
